The actual base of the coil? ...Yes, can see that it comes right out - mine just flew across the room! Soon found it though and I'll try it when I change the coil...see what happens. Surely though, if I can just pull it out with my fingers, it'll go back in again as soon as it meets the slightest resistance?

The ego threaded atomisers work best when you screw them in till you feel the slightest resistance (in my experience). If you over tighten them the wire legs of the coil can get screwed up and it can cause shorts or inconsistant resistance (ohms) readouts. When you over tighten them onto your battery the rubber insulator gets squashed and if you leave it that way for any length of time it never recovers its' original size, sometimes leading to the problems you're having

OK, that makes sense - can't say I do over tighten them because if anything, I'm the opposite with things - especially with this type of thing since finding the mini nautilus works best if the base is slackened off half a turn before putting it back on the battery.

Still, I decided I was curious enough, and the coil old enough that I'd change it - having had the little pin out and not pushed back all the way, I put it back together ...and guess what!

IT WORKS! Ssh!

Thanks for all the help all of you - now I hope it stays that way - at least I know what to try if it happens again :thumb:

Me and Bob have the DT 50 with 4000 mah lipo battery, but they do models with replaceable batteries and I think there's a mini in the pipeline

I said on another forum that if the MVP V3 is going to be expensive, I'll get another one of these or maybe a mini depending on the specs

Glad you like it mate. I've gone for the GX 200 which takes dual 18650 batteries. If I like it a lot I might even pick up one of the minis too :)

My dear old Granddad always promised me a horse when he won the pools ..it was a great dream until I realised it was likely not going to happen! He meant well though :)

Reminds me of when the Wife said she would get me a Lamborghini for Christmas. She actually did, but it was a toy one

What! Hell, you're expensive! ...trick is do you have good taste to go with it! ;)

Well I need 3.5 million just for the house I want, 2 million for the cars I want, a few quid to the family - won't leave much change from 8 million

I've got excellent taste, but only in e-liquid

Aw! That's nice :) We've been there too ...not enough money coming in and a mortgage and two children. It's tough at times. The supermarket still gets the money I spent on cigarettes: it's been transformed into extra groceries and petrol! ;)

it's true though Trisha :)

Interesting. I'm always a bit perplexed when you see reviewers like pbusardo wick their tanks by just stuffing cotton down the chimney any old way. I started out trying it that way with a kayfun and I got flooding issues, but they must not. Since I tried this method of short wicks stuck against the side it works better for me.

That's how I do all my tanks Adam, very short tails about 6-8 mm long. If they touch the bottom of the juice ledge, their too long - especially with the rayon I use :)

Blimey Trish,i thought i was bad ;-)

Know where you're coming from,it's got to look right.:)

You think that's bad George. I went through a phase of having to have colour matched Kayfun tanks, drip tips and mods

I suppose it is ..pity it's necessary though. I like things to work once I've decided to buy them

Ah yes - I had a Ferrari Berlinetta once! :)

That's an expensive lifestyle ....3.5m houses cost a lot in overheads, not to mention the insurance on those cars! Think you better keep your day job!

Thanks! :)

My iStick 30 came today woohoo. My first impression is it's tiny compared to to the mvp 2
Great! :)
...and I'll bet your second impression is that it's powerful! ;)

The 20W ones knocked spots off the MVP2's for me ..perhaps because of the extra power output, but even at it's lowest, it seems much more efficient.
I used the MVP2's at 6.5-7.5W and use the iSticks at the lowest I can get usually depending on the coil which are generally 1.8 or 2.0 ohm.

Hows the Red Astaire steeping
I just tried the Red Astaire. It's very nice - plenty of fruit with a pleasant hint of cool menthol!
I made mine at 20% as it's in a VG base, and could probably take it a few percent higher, but it's pretty good all the same :)
Far better than the MBV Hawk & Faux Hawk ...definitely don't like those.

Yes it definitely is haven't gone past 12 watts yet.Just bought a gs air clearo, two in fact and a pack of coils for £25 so I can go upto 20 watts if I want. The only problem is I can't screw the mini nautilus in it goes half a turn and stops but works with the adaptor

Are you making your own RA from scratch Trish, or adding concentrate to a ready made ?

Odd with the mini Nautilus - where I had problems with a mega MOW 510 fitting showing 'no atomiser' yesterday, the mini Nautilus screwed in fully & sat perfectly flush and fired right away. Is it a new Nautilus ...and is there any fault on the thread?
What fitting is the GS Air?

I'm trying to keep to as little PG as possible or I'd have tried it.
The Red Astaire is as good as I'd hoped after sniffing and tasting a drop when it came!

Vapemail for me too, I got 2 orchid v6 and an atty stand, oddly though a tablet I ordered for the missus and was posted 3 days before the other stuff hasn't arrived yet, still showing as dispatched etc
I finally got my VapeRus order delivered ..but where I'd ordered the GS16 2.8ml tank, they sent the GS16S 1ml tank! :( Not amused! Dratted order took 15 days from despatch too!
I did order another from the US, so that may arrive soon.
If I knew whether they worked OK or not, I'd order another, but I don't know much about them yet.
I got an Aspire K1 a while ago- terrible and I hadn't the patience to mess about with it nor send it back! (I'm not very tolerant of things that arrive and don't work!)

Used concentrate from Chefs and made it with a 6mg 100VG base :)

The gs air is the same thread as the nautilus I never know if it's 510 or ego thread it's a 2.5 mil tank
Both are 510, as is the mega MOW and ones such as Lemo - the smaller MOW and the Evod for instance, are Ego fitting - they'd need you to use the adapter provided with some batteries/mods.
Eleaf do make some of their tanks in both 510 and Ego fitting though, but yours is 510.

This page will show you the differences:
GS16

I also got a Porsche with the Lambo :D

I'd have solar panels fitted though, the roof would be that big, I could probably power half of the North West with them

I remember that! Mostly red if I recall! ;)

Guilty as charged  I like red stuff.

Very quiet tonight trish isn`t it ?

That's why I didn't hang around. Seemed like everyone was out for the night :(

It really is surprising how small they are in the flesh.

I've found a couple of tanks that don't want to screw in too. Guess it's just slightly different thread tolerances, even though the tanks have a 510 connector and it's supposed to be a standardised system.
