The gs air is a nice tank only one slight problem is above the airflow holes is a strip of stainless steel, once your juice gets to this level the tank looks empty. When you turn the tank upside down you got half a mill to a mill of juice left
The MOW tanks are a bit like that too! - Not too bad once you know that though :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been trying the GS16S today - painful using something that only holds 1ml, but has been good for trying a couple of new ones I haven't used before.
The coil took some 'bedding in': tasted horrible for perhaps 8-10 draws, and then settled down. I'd left it for 10 minutes too. Apart from that, it seems very good so far. Not a hint of a leak, gurgle or spit.
The GS16 is being sent on Monday. Interesting that the coils are cheaper at that site than they are at the one UK site selling them. Not cheap at 1.49 each though!
If they prove to work well, I hope, seeing they sell other Eleaf stuff, FT will get the tanks and coils eventually.

Chefs have got a different 'Rebranded' range flavouring: custard. May be worth trying it ...I often like using them to add a few drops to a tank, or boost the flavour in bottles - they're fairly strong flavourings.

Adam, what would you say i should shoot for with the ohms on my first nickle build tomorrow ? Around 0.18 ?
Hey terry, well it needs to be 0.1 or over to take advantage of the 40 watts. Nickel builds jump around a little (I guess like any builds) so I'd recommend going over 0.12 ohms I think.

Generally I find that more surface area is fine for nickel builds so most things I do more than 10 wraps even if it's 29ga.

Good coil wrapping is important. Hot spots will ruin the temperature control so wrap them well and my latest technique for checking they glow inside out properly is to turn off temp control but only fire it at a low power, say 10 watts. And I don't fire them for long, just enough to check they glow correctly.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks Adam, so the coils will glow with the TC off ?

Yeah they might glow very slightly at 600F I've found but I turn it off and fore low power to check they are good.

I've seen people online and video tutorials saying a slightly spaced out coil is better for nickel builds. In my opinion a very slight spacing is good, not like the stock lemo coil which is properly spaced out.

Yes i`ve watched a few videos showing the same thing mate. one guy just wrapped his coil, then pushed them together while still on the bit, so i will try it that way first :)

Okay, so i built my first nickle coil today and it is reading 0.19 just what i was aiming for really. The problem i am having, and i remember Bob having the same issue is... It will fire for a couple of times, then the TC keeps kicking in and i can`t get a vape from it. I have got the VF set at 420 degrees and 20 watts.

I know it is something and nothing, but for the life of me i can`t remember how Bob resolved it  Adam Help please mate !

It's a old miners house we live in it was my wife's grandfathers house. When we gutted it it was larth and plaster I never seen so much black dust and I work in a steelworks. But it's now how we want it new marble floor tiles, white walls grey furniture and glass tables. Anyway I'm loving this istick 30 the power off it is amazing compared to the mpv 2

Sounds lovely mate, you can't beat a lung full of black dust  I remember years ago, a mate of mine bought a house that had originally been 3 small cottages, but it had all been knocked through. In total, it had 7 bedrooms, some were tiny. I persuaded him to knock through some of the bedrooms and make it a 4 bedded house (only Him, the Wife and 2 kids). I just wanted an excuse for a bit of sledgehammer work  But the dust was amazing, we had all the windows open and it looked like the house was on fire

I can raise you with a DB5  :)

The name's Bond, Trisha Bond

Yes! there's a chap at the broadband forum, has solar panels and not only gets his electricity free, he sells it to the grid! Almost paid for themselves in the first two years.
I think they're ugly though

I'm sure I've seen panels with a slate look, guess they'd be ok if you did the whole roof with them, nobody would know then :D

Didn't go far ...just reading at the NT section. Clark reckons he's going to get a few Max VG ones done! ...now that would be nice - as long as they aren't apple, blackcurrant, lime or cinnamon ...or bananas! - I like the chocolate/custard/bakery ones!

Sounds promising, as long as it's flavours you can cope with :)

Think that's the thing with time off in winter ...unless you're an outdoors enthusiast, decorating seems to be the thing!

There's a few jobs I need to do outside, but they can wait. I think I'm getting a bit old to be laying patios in the snow

Something with the chroma of red would bring the wall close, pale, light reflecting colours make them recede.

Not a Bryant house is it? Our eldest son has a decently sized house but like you, no window on the landing! He helped that a bit by putting a glass brick wall in the section at the top of the stairs, and some of the light from the front door glass and sides gets up there.

To be honest, I told the Wife I didn't like the idea of red on the wall, as soon as she bought the paint. But she decided to paint it when I was at work one day

No ours is a Hill homes house. They promptly went "bump" 12 months after we moved in :( Luckily we had the NHBC guarantee for 10 years, managed to get a couple of jobs done under the guarantee. Like the porch over the front door had slipped a little, so they fitted a new Gallows bracket for us. I've looked into getting one of those light tubes for the landing - but for the cost of fitting it (having to go up through the loft and the roof), I'll just stick to a 100 watt bulb for now

I had solar pv panels fitted (3.75 kw array) and solar thermal (60 sealed tubes) on the house I live in now. They're great - but there's no way that they'd pay for themselves in 2 years. You have to weigh up the energy you currently use compared to the energy that you'll generate. Solar Thermal means free hot water for most of the year - even in the depths of winter they keep the tank warm, with just a quick burst (20 mins) from the boiler. Yes, you do get paid for the electricity you generate, and you also get RHI payments for the hot water. You also get paid for the electricity you generate that you use, which is very nice. :) However, they're not a rapid cash cow, more a long-term project imho.

I've seen companies that fit the panels for free too. But don't they get the money from the extra electricity you generate, or something like that ??

A nice Kuro coiler would soon sort that out for you mate

Having a lazy day today :)

Got my FT parcel yesterday, but not even bothered with it. Just checked everything was in there.

Catching up on some TV today. Then tomorrow, I'll start the decorating marathon, or maybe just buy the paint to start the decorating marathon

------------------------

The DOVPO has now shipped, by Sing Post. But still no sign of movement with the iStick 50 watt yet. I think I'm going to hold off on buying a temp regulated mod for now, even though I'm tempted by the blue and red Flasks. I'll let Terry be the guinea pig this time

EDIT: Sorted...I just turned the VF off and left it alone for a while, turned it back on, and it vapes like a champion. It`s very deceiving though, with being used to popping and cracking with kanthal builds, this nickle wire does none of that, it really is a silent vape, so when i take a draw it actually feels like nothing is happening in the dripper, but with direct lung hits it is performing brilliant. ATM i have it set at 25 watts, and it is a very cool vape and very nice indeed :) And that is with 6 mg 50/50 gremlin juice. Trisha, the gremlin juice is nothing to write home about in my humble opinion, It`s ok, and i can compare it to the digby`s mums ( A bit nutty) which i don`t like in a custard liquid.

So all in all, very very happy with the VF, and it is worth every penny, but the gremlin juice, even though it was a freebie, i wouldn`t buy it.

Forgot to mention. Decided to take the Orchid on the Hana Mod to work with me yesterday. Now, I do get a lot of people give a "double take" when I'm normally vaping on the iStick or a Vmod. But the number of stares I got yesterday was unbelievable. Now I know, with the Hana being red, it looks a bit different. But bloody hell, one Guy nearly walked into a lamppost he was that busy staring  Another one was giving me some really weird looks, so I blew him a kiss, he soon looked away  Anyone would think I was vaping on a car battery. I do like the extra attention though

This is one very happy guinea pig Ian  Absolutely fantastic now it is working right. I did have to watch a couple more vids, But i think just turning it off for a while to let it settle, then when switched back on it must just do all the calculating, and you are good to go. :)

Let me tell you Ian, you are really missing out on this ! Massive clouds, no hotness or harshness, just lovely dense clouds of cool vapour. Get one mate, bloody great for £47.00.

Well off to make some grub, so catch you later.

Ah good. I recall bob having to remove the batteries in his and put them back in or something. I find sometimes after building it it works better if you leave it sit for a while, either use a different atty on the mod or I unscrew it slightly so when you fire it it reads no atomiser, then put it back on in a bit so the mod reads it fresh and may even ask you if it's a new coil to which you say yes.

I find there is a little variability in what I set the tc to with each build but it's usually 430 - 460F

Nowt wrong with my builds george

Yes it`s running perfect now Adam, I`ve had to put it down for a bit now, nic overload  I like the way it lowers the watts as well when the wick starts to dry out and as soon as you drip some more it will go back to your original settings. No way could you ever get a dry hit with this thing ! It is a very clever device for sure :toast:

Glad you like it mate. I find it's perfect for an RDA with a restrictive lung draw kind of hit. Great for flavour that way. My favourite device for it is the veritas, but it also handles the lemo and the hobo really well.

I guess it lowers your power when your wick is a bit dry because it heats up quicker with less juice touching it but you're right it's pretty clever.

No, don't do that to me mate, I'm trying to be good. Oh go on then, you've convinced me

Glad you've got it sussed out now though :) I know, I'll be getting one pretty soon. Just got to decide whether to go for the red or the blue. I've got enough black and silver mods now.
