Evenin' all.
First off cheers Bob for the minotaur, picked it up the other day, it's absolutely stunning mate, I'm really happy with it. Not had chance to have a play with it yet though.
Terry, hope things are looking a bit brighter for you now mate
. My thoughts have been with you the last few days.
---------------------
Not had any vapemail so far this week. Even though I was expecting some to come through.
------------------------------------
Had a busy time with work - as usual
But also had other things to occupy my time. Stripped down the front suspension and found not only had the spring snapped, but the top bearing mount had disintegrated too. I don't know which went first, the spring or the bearing. Also checked out the shock absorber strut, but I'm having problems with that too. Joined a couple of dedicated Ford forums to try and find some answers on testing the strut, but so far I can't get any definitive answers to my questions. Unusually, the Haynes manual I have for the car, doesn't give me any decent answers either. I don't want to have to buy another strut for the car, if mine is ok. But on the other hand, if I spend a few hours putting everything back together and find the strut is also knackered, I'll be a bit peed off
------------------------
Also, my Step-son has jetted off to Australia 2 days ago. He's got a 6 month contract on one of the P&O cruise liners, Children's Entertainment Manager. So we've had that to sort out too. Last minute travel arrangements etc. Plus, my Wife's aunt passed away recently. So my better half has been upset, even though we've been expecting it for a few weeks now. Had the funeral today. It was a really touching send off, with a really great get together afterwards. Can't remember the last time I saw so many happy, laughing faces at a send off. They were playing old family movies on an old cine project after the meal, some of them were hilarious. It really did surprise me, it wasn't the sombre affair I was expecting
------------------
So my Wife is a lot happier now after today's events, my car is looking very sorry for itself (sat on the drive, on axle stands with no wheels on it), the house is a lot quieter (with just me and the Missus here) and I've not had any vapemail. Think that covers everything
-------------------
Oh, forgot to mention. We've ordered new front and back doors too. The surveyor is coming round tomorrow, to measure up properly and make sure the company can fulfil our order, with the specs we want. Our doors are wider than standard, with low thresholds (designed for wheelchair access). When we bought the house, it was classed as a "lifetime" home. Wider doors for wheelchair access, wider stairwell for a stair lift and a downstairs loo large enough to be wheelchair friendly. All good ideas in principal, but can cause problems with them being non-standard doors.
