I'm reminded of the day last week when our regular postman enquired 'How are you today!' ....'Fine, and happy to be getting my new specs today too'.
'Oh, my eyes are getting bad too ....I'm 57 now - but of course, you're older than me'

I smiled through gritted teeth, and thought better of the words that I almost uttered ...he is prone to sulking!

Thanks so much. :) Bought 30 ml and 10 ml of virtual custard by way of contrast.
:) I'm looking forward to trying that.
Some time ago, they had one that never got a name, merely '?' - I had a bottle and liked it - it had a flavour of nice biscuits, custard and vanilla - could be an upgraded version of that! If so, then it'll be very nice.

Watching Press Preview as usual, there's a story in a few of tomorrows papers that mentioned a pill derived from red wine that could help with Alzheimer's ...only one extract that I knew of (Resveratrol), and I've been taking 60mg of it every evening for years ...primarily started taking it when I smoked as it's a good antioxidant.
This is the Telegraph article: Could a simple supplement halt Alzheimer’s disease? - Telegraph

The article written in the Express cites it as being 'a new drug' ...which is absolute rubbish. The study is newly reported, and the dosage is much higher than has been standard in the past.

As a result, I'll certainly carry on taking it.

Looks like you might be the junior then @Marcus1970 out of the home team.
Lol I'm playing away. The expat half breed that I am. There is no home for we the great banished!

@Marcus1970 some people may say it's wrong to do that. For me, I won't order anymore nt at full price but I may at half off. So they win. Also the mark up is so high I don't feel bad about it. You'd probably have to use their credit cards, I'm lucky. Infinite supply of emails and shared bank accounts.

Change of subject. I just ordered three pairs of specs from zenninoptical today for $75. Chose moderate polycarbonate lenses and base coating on them to test he quality. Reports have their frames as better than bargain basement glasses locally and the lenses as good as top end coatings bit with cheaper frames.

At ~$25 a pair I'm fine if they last the equivalent of 90 days wear. I expect more than that.

I had a quote for one pair today at the optician which was $385 for two pair.

Can't hurt to try the online solution. The fast tech of spectacles. Lol

Today marks 12 days since my uk orders from
Chefs and Eco. I really hope they arrive but I have a feeling it may be into next week.

As long as your girlfriend has a different IP number and delivery address, you'll be fine :)

Trip to my sisters coming up:sneaky:
I'll have to go there and do the order or i'll end up with about 6 kilos of that Perkins paste stuff:)

Had a small problem with the subtank mini yesterday so I'll post a little quick fix here just in case.
It was cleaned and rebuilt ok every think metered ok but wouldn't test fire. The small centre brass brass pin kept loosing connection with the atty deck. Rebuild it, measures ok but soon as you put power through it would lose connection.
Then I found you can unscrew the base from the deck. Mine had unscrewed a turn or two leaving the pin a bit short, so quick tighten and problem solved. Hold the deck with pliers and the very bottom base with pipe grips (carefully) and tighten it back up. It was loose enough to adjust by fingers, I only noticed the air control ring was getting larger gaps top and bottom.
I've also stopped using bought coils from FT. They were good when first installed but most leaked/flooded after first refill, don't know why, but I'm just rebuilding my own, no leaks for months.

I bought 25 from them and five were what I'd call "good" the rest, as you experienced, had random issues sooner than later and all came with tremendously loose bases and needed to be seated. This was an issue with such shirt leads and lumpy connections. I ended up rebuilding about half of them.

You don't have to go round your sisters, you could use a Virtual Private Network from your own house, but still use her name and address to place the order, I have a VPN it's useful for those sites that show videos, but only to local users, so I can log in pretending I am in the USA, HK, Amsterdam or wherever...

Yup. It's how I stream a bunch of uk programming live and so forth. I'll connect to s la Vpn and ship to her work if needed. :)

I'm not trying to do it thirty times but once more for a second big order to see what sticks is fine with me.

They often do half off anyway if you pay attn. major holidays. They just had one IIRC

 Why on earth would you want to do that Bob? :w00t::lol::laugh:

I get you mate,just messin'
I Know :) There is one site that really p***es me off, AFV (Americas Funniest Videos) and if their vids get reposted on a site like I can haz Cheezebuger then they will only show up if you live in the USA - so using a VPN can bypass that, I actually just ignore AFV videos now, too much hassle.
