Yesterday I was saying about my juice tasting burnt in my Subtank mini.
I still had the burning taste so about half hour ago I decided to try my Subtank nano. I put in a new coil from the same pack I was using in my mini and I used the same juice and I kept my Sbox on the same watt.

And guess what????? Nice tasting juice :)

@terry w Sorry to be a pain in the rear.
I'm gonna place an order on Amazon and Mesh Company have the Kanthal wire.
Please could you confirm this is the right one I need to get
Kanthal A1 Type Resistance Wire - 0.4mm (26 AWG) - 25 Metre Spool - 17.97 ohms/m: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools
Hi sue sorry for the late reply, few probs today ! Yes, if you are aiming for a 0.5 ohm coil with 26 awg wire you would need around 4 wraps, but if you went for the 24 awg, it would be 6 wraps, and that would give more surface area to your wick. If you do decide to get the 26 ga 5/4 wraps will give you a 0.6 ohm coil. :)

Cleaned my little air cleaner. The kind that emits ozone - ionic cleaner. Heavy film presumably from vaping. It's winter now so limited ac / fans / windows open. I'm concerned for the electronics if the ionizer looks like this.

Has anyone had issues with electronics due to second hand vape? I'm considering putting an air purifier by the bed or not vaping in the bedroom.

Thoughts ? Maybe the ionizer is doing its job and Therefore if it's cleaned regularly it would limit the exposure to the rest of the electronics?

Could mean a couple of dodgy coils, one way to test that theory, would be to take the one out of the Nano and put it in the Mini, if no problem then it was dodgy coils, otherwise it could be a short on the Mini somewhere - a proper clean & using an old toothbrush round the base of the Mini might fix that.

Probably doing it's job, my old ones used to get quite mucky, I now use a cheapy AIO - Ioniser, Purifier & Humidifier, not sure if it is as good as a decent one though, but space dictates.

I have several computer appliances around the same area. NAS. Small of that transcodes for the house. etc

I've added a picture so you can see the ionizer to the bottom left proximity to the rest of it.

Upon inspection the fans and such did not have any kind of costing. Seems the top of a few devices was very slightly sticky but nothing major. So it does actually seem like the ionizer may be doing what it's mean to. That said I am probably going to bring the purifier in here. Which stinks because it's loud and large.

Pardon the mess I clearly haven't been up cleaning lately. I may move the ionizer to he other side so it's not bordered on two sides with walls

I think that you may be worrying a little too much. If you have single glazed windows as it gets colder you will find grey gunk all over them. This is your vg exhale so not to worry. Just clean the windows. I have never had an issue with electronics and vaping. They seem to be somehow in harmony imho.

I used to have a fairly large air cleaner/ioniser in here to keep airborne particles/fibres from getting onto my work, as well as deal with dust, volatiles from materials used, and back in the day, cigarette smoke!
Trouble was, the ion charged air caused some components in the computer to attract particles and dust, and they ended up with little 'carpets' sitting on them causing overheating!

Now that I don't smoke, the problems are far less, so I have a smaller Bionaire but don't use the ioniser.

As for film from vaping, I'm not sure it affects anything that isn't cold such as window glass in winter, and the bookcase doors and mirror glass in summer.
As far as I know, the computer is running fine with no signs of overheating, the router and other electrical items in here all seem fine too.
Either way, no harm putting a small air cleaner beside you.

Well on the ionizer it was literally dripping down the fins. And I have been heaping heavily. I hope I am worrying. I read an article a short time ago where someone exposed their pc fans and they were dropping too. I believe that heavy vaping and no little to no airflow may become a problem after a year or two. Especially the fans on a plasma tv

That said. I'll put up wih S bit of noise. I have two dogs who have both taken to jumping in the bed since I've been recovering to keep warm. So a purifier won't hurt anything. Just to be clear he digs are bathed weekly. They're not stinky dogs by any stretch. :) plus I love my dogs.

Edit

I just went to check for that post. I mistook it for what a pic looked like that was smoked next to. So I probably am being overly cautious. Still when the top of the tv is slightly sticky it concerns me.

Anyway. Thanks for your help and feedback. I probably am working over nothing. That's what happens when you're couped up!

@Pictor

I did a test with two entertainment centers and came to the conclusion that in Arizona the dust is so bad it's going to get everywhere however the entertainment center with ionizer running was markedly better off than one without.

Also believe it or not but that little computer center I have is actually relatively organized and that's the after cable management photo. You should have seen the before. I need to
Cut down on stuff in here! And probably try and find a small air cleaner. Any recommendations?

Might actually be better if you have a socket, to put the ionizer away from the rest of the gear as it attracts the dirt etc towards it, also put it on top of a square of recycled carpet (the sort they use for display in carpet shops) to save your carpet getting dirty as well.

I agree with that - as far away from electrical equipment as possible, and set on a washable surface or matting of some sort as stated.

Still when the top of the tv is slightly sticky it concerns me.
I get a slight tackiness on my desk etc., and use a damp cloth with mild cleaner on such surfaces once a week.
It never makes the monitor tacky though because it's warm.

Forgot about where you live! Arizona is a whole different environment to here, so you'll probably do better with an ioniser.

And probably try and find a small air cleaner. Any recommendations?
I must have tried around 4 different air cleaners in here, and some were a pain to keep clean, some not very efficient, but the 3M FAP01 Filtrete was very good! It helped a lot with smoke and cooking smells as well as dust and airborne particles.
Now though, I use the Bionaire BAP9240: Buy Bionaire BAP9240-IUK Air Purifier, Silver | John Lewis. It's available from a number of places, and comes in a more expensive model with a lifetime HEPA filter too.
This smaller one is perfect for my needs now, and very neat compared to some others.

@Pictor I made another batch of qop last night. A big one. And it's bad again. 30% mix made with 6mg nicotine. The mix is correct. I don't get what I'm doing wrong. When I made a small batch it was great. I wonder if making 100ml means it needs some steeping time compared to smaller bottles? Have you noticed qop benefits heavily from steeping. The best explanation I can give is that it's not very full flavored. The good batch you could taste the beer but also the pastry aspect. On the two batches that were bigger it's just a hollow sort of raspberry.

The mix I made was

6ml of nicotine (all vg)
30ml of concentrate
64ml of vg.

Pretty simple and easy to see the mix was 30%. I wonder if maybe one of my syringes is way off or something and that's the one I used on both of the lackluster batches. The 100ml measurement based on bottle fill compared to a premade Jude that shipped in it seems a little on the low side. But the juice maker who sent the bottle may slightly overfill to account for spillage or because they don't want people to think they're not getting their money's worth when they see a not full bottle (assuming the bottle is 120ml and the vendor sells 100ml sizes)

Have you experience a flatter tasting qop and if so did you add more flavoring? Allow it to steep? If the juice is too weak is that when its just berry and almost sour-ish? I'd think if maybe I made a mistake like left out 10ml of vg because I thought 54 instead of 64 that I'd find it too strong and taste everything.

I think the bottle is too big for me to speed steel in the ultrasonic but I may decant and try a small bottle in there. Or split the batch into
Four to test various steeping ages.

I would question that it may be the vg I am
Using. I can't remember if I made 50/50 with the small batch. However the other big batch was made with different vg (the French base chefs sells vs some I bought on Amazon) so I feel that is probably ruled out.

Thanks for your help and insight. Sorry for the length of the post.inreally am
Guessing at this point a big batch needs a fair steep. I just don't know.

It was me who said that  and I learnt the hard way when we both smoked I had an ionizer in the front room, and the carpet went black all around it

That's a nice looking one, for the front room, where the missus still smokes, we have this one, it's a bit dearer, but does the job: Vicks V-9071 HEPA Air Purifier: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

After saying I had nice tasting juice using the nano tank I started getting that burnt taste again.
Last night I phoned up my friend as she has quite a few different mods. Anyway, I went round her house and she tried my Subtank mini and Nano on her mods and she didn't get any bad tastes what so ever.
She then tried her tanks on my Subox..... and she got that burnt taste even though the Subox was set on 9.2W.

My Subox is authentic but is it possible that it could be firing higher than it is showing?.

I don't have the receipt so I can't take it back.
