Ah well - it's our wedding anniversary so we popped out for a couple of steaks today. Yum!

Sport on telly can be so annoying. You tape a tennis match and, part way through, you're told that it's being moved to another channel. This defies all logic.

Tomorrow is Independence Day. Looking forward to it. :)

I was referred to a BUPA hospital for an operation because i had spent nearly 2 years on an NHS waiting list.
Approx 10 years ago.
Dreadful amount of time to wait. We were told by a doctors practice manager that at the time, that the waiting list would have been around 18 months or more for the procedure my husband had. Made us even more glad that we'd sorted it ourselves ...being an initial dermatologist and then plastic surgeon at the same Nuffield hospital, we were able to self-refer.
Needless to say, we changed our GP practice as neither of us trusted the old one again. It wasn't the first time they'd let us both down.
The new one was just before I was ill last year, and I was extremely glad we'd changed because they really did look after me well.

I do like going to the BUPA (Nuffield) hospital because it doesn't feel or smell like being in a hospital.
I get a real sinking and unsettled feeling just visiting someone in the NHS hospitals.

Happy anniversary! Steaks sounds rather nice!

That is annoying! They really should decide on one or the other channel.

Yes - just hope I wake up to good news on Friday! I may get some idea of how things are shaping before I go to bed, but never believe anything until the last vote is counted :)

Cor, just been woken up by an almighty thunderstorm right overhead, one bang was exactly at the same time as the flash, think it may have struck the building next door's lightning conductor
Hope it passes over fast! ...and that you get back to sleep easily :)

It started before midnight, managed to get to sleep, but it's still going on although a bit further away now, they reckon we might get more in the morning - hope not :(
Hope it drifts off out to sea and doesn't head north ...we're having a decent few days for a change! :)

Round 1 headed NE so from us through Norfolk then out into the North Sea, Round 2 is due later and is the same sort of course, so you should be safe up there, was looking at coming up your way to go on the Whitby to Pickering line, but it looks like it is nearly impossible to do it in 1 day.

Vapemail: DHL finally delivered the packet I was waiting in for yesterday (they reckoned because it got held up in Customs too long - it cleared @ 08:59 yesterday)
Vaptio S150 can cope with Ka, Ni, Ti, SS and it's own Advanced Temp Control coils (think it is Kanthal with a Special Temp probe) which looks like it works, Vaping with Vic did a review here:

Been down to my Polling Station (less than 2 minute walk) and put my X in the bottom box :)
Stupid Fred stayed out all night, but now curled up downstairs after having his breakfast.
We just had a quick walk down with the dogs - did the right thing not going out with them for the afternoon ...it's too warm, especially for Soph as she's gradually slowing and her leg getting weaker etc.
Did Fred look traumatised when he came in? Our two don't mind a storm as long as we don't look alarmed, but don't even ask to go out during it.

Nice rail trip on a good day, but yes, train services aren't as good as they used to be, and the journey from KX to here is fast, but getting to the Whitby line and then the Pickering one would involve too many waits & changes.
I wanted to visit the two galleries on weekend exhibition openings by going on the train, and the weekend services are poor - whether Eton or Burford, would have taken me all day travelling to get there and back with around 90 minutes at the opening!
I'm no patient traveller at the best of times!

Doesn't sound so stupid to me :) Night on the tiles, breakfast and bed, reminds me of when i was young.
Gosh, that's a long time ago (for me that it, not you ;))

Yes but they hate Thunder & Lightning, when indoors he always runs upstairs and hides
Perhaps he found a safe corner somewhere and sat it out.

Like Fred I'll be pulling an all-nighter today. Will probably hit the pillow about 9am.
...would that be in front of a TV  :D
