Surely any laws that They imposed on us Trish will now be null and void ? At least i hope that is the case. George, in all honesty i can`t see that e petition coming to anything, even if they did get the 100.000 signatures, it would only mean it would/could be debated again. Again, i hope that would be the case, and it wouldn`t go any further than a debate.
Anyway, Junker has already said, "That is it ! and we`re OUT"
Maybe the Londoners will be able to retake control of the Capital once again, instead of it being ruled by god knows which country...
I hope so too, but not sure once it has been approved or whatever. Not at all sure - perhaps Lord Callanan can answer that one ...do we have an email address for him?
The Polish Ambassador made it sound like a very long and drawn out affair taking 2 years or longer if we use the Article 50 option ...in effect using an EU system that we have just voted against!! Is that politics speak for getting as much cash out of us as they can before we keel over?
On the other hand, a conservative MP (Didn't hear his name) said that much can be done right away so that when a new PM takes over in October, much of the groundwork would be done, and we could exit the EU very quickly - that is if we ignore any use of this article 50!
To me that seems like a no brainer - and any new PM dragging things out would perhaps be rather foolish ...but then, we know that they can be just that!
This afternoon, my elation is a little replaced by anger that Cameron could so underestimate the intelligence and resilience of the UK people. He obviously thought that we could be influenced by scare mongering and alarmist comments - he must have got quite a shock.
So far, the markets haven't crashed through the floor, and there's no sign of WW3 beginning - I can put away my tin hat and application for a ration book!
The now invisible Osborne hasn't called a flash budget to rake in more taxes from us, and the US has definitely not turned it's back on us.

Unfortunately it has already been put into a Statutory Instrument, and therefore law, it can be altered, but it will be at the bottom of the list of things to do.
All the EU regulations & directives that have been put into UK law will remain in place until they are looked at and either amended, altered or scrapped, and that has to be done in accordance to UK law

Unfortunately the Scots were also devilish yesterday and voted remain across the board. Mrs Sturgeon will try to make capital out of that, I fear.

You may have seen the lead singer on The Crystal maze,i think he took the job over from Richard O'Brien(of Rocky horror fame).
I wasn't - the bulk of London is made up of staff of the big investment banks, small businesses etc., so they would always vote to remain, but at least it was a national vote so every vote against was still counted and added to the total scoreboard
It really was one man/woman/whatever one vote this time. No nasty constituencies - just a numbers game. If only general elections worked like this! It is a much fairer system.
Is that PR? I think that's more complex than the jam jar system that I'd like. Vote Tory - your vote goes in the Tory jam jar. Vote Green - that vote goes into the Green jam jar etc.. At the end of the night you empty all the jam jars onto their respective tables and count the votes.

The silly eff-ers are now wanting London as an Independent State W T FSo once again in British history the North bails the South out
Agreed, don't think we would ever have one party in overall control if we had proportional representation, that's why both Conservatives & Labour are totally against it.
