In the land of no hills and red dirt
Sorry, busy day. Will have pics posted tonight, promise. Oddly enough, I'm liking this big honking rebuildable on my v1 mini. My Reo loan was put to good use. And the general purpose longer stem looks like it was made to order on my woodville!

And I'd put it roughly on equalish basis with the RM2. But right now, I'm loving the latter with SS mesh and .07mm kanthal ribbon wire. What I can't figure out is that the BFFatty is not too far behind in vapor and taste. I'm still using the coil and wick they came with, have to see what they're using on it.

And the real test will come to see whether or not I can duplicate the results when I place my own setup on there as well. I'm not the sharpest of eye, nor the steadiest of hand, but thankfully the Fatty is the second most forgiving to recoil rba, right behind the RM2.

And as if I didn't have enough to do, they also threw in a fatty v3 dripper in the Reo return package as well! Sigh.

Here's a couple of exterior pics. Not the greatest, but then it's late and I've got a raging sinus headache. (Local allergy report today shows high readings for dust, pollen, mold and midi-chlorians.) But was able to take a few outside pics.

From Left to Right: OMG*, Mini v1.0, comparison of two sizes (mini is on far right), Woodville

What's surprising is that the Mini is completely kick ... with the Fatty. It's brought this little mod almost onto an equal footing with its big brothers. I'd just about consider taking this out with me out into the world now.

I can't figure out how the vape, and especially the taste, is so spectacular on these. Even with my ordinary thick bulli wick, I can really taste and enjoy my juice. I'd put it on roughly equal footing with my RM2 with a stainless steel wick and ribbon wire coil.

AND I'm proud to say that my modest little attempt at coiling brought about a .8ohm coil which has turned my OMG* into a out and out fog machine. Extremely happy with the results, even if it is an awfully thirsty little beast.

Is this available for sale yet, or do we have to wait?

Been told that you can order the fatty (v1 or 2) that you want, and then check on bottom feed insulator under RBA parts. Further informed that the bottom feeders are modified by hand, and the modders are out of town until next Tuesday.

So, to specifically answer your question, yes and yes.

So basically they extended the connector? So how exactly is it sealing up in the cup?

Pretty tight seemless fit, actually. Almost impossible for this to leak, unless I a) overquonk the hell out of it...and b) then lay it down on its side.

Just to show that I can be objective, there are one or two small gripes I have about the fatty.

The top piece secures to the base with double o-rings. Moving the air control ring to control the air flow can move the entire top piece and cause it to misalign with the coil if care is not used.

The slit that lets the air in is either just below the control ring if it is wide open, or behind it if it is choked more than 1/4 of a turn. In other words the side hole is either difficult or impossible to see, which makes it easier to misalign it with the coil.

Why they didn't put a divit, indentation, something, underneath the slit on the top piece so you easily locate the slit is beyond me. My solution is to put a dot of obnoxious fingernail polish underneath the slit. As an added bonus, borrowing the polish without saying what it's for has the added advantage of really throwing my wife off.

And finally, cost is my biggest concern with the piece. The Fatty either costs $59.00 in it's basic configuration or $83.00 for the version with draw control. And you have to add another $12 for the base to be converted from dripping to bottom feeding. It's not Chalice money, but you have to be pretty serious about squonking on a rba to pony up the almost Benjamin.

A promising thought....my wife, who I've been trying to get off of analogs now for four years....saw the Mini Fatty on the counter, and took a quick vape of OKC Vape's Gobstobber juice. Her eyes opened wide, before she looked over at me. After a sigh followed by a nod, she instantly picked it up and took it with her going to the opposite side of the house. If this setup gets her off of smoking, Reo and Chris will have to split the Nobel Prize for ModMaking.

Do you know if they sell just the new base Clyde? I would like to try the revision on mine. I only had the two complaints with it, the cobbled connection that does not allow me to line up the airhole where I would like and the o-rings were extremely tight on the top cap. Removing one of the o-rings took care of that one but the new base would take care of the second.

Just for clarification - You just order the fatty V2 and the accessories, or do we still need to special request the bottom fed base?

I see all the parts on their site, I'm just not clear if we need to special request the bottom fed base.

I'm eyeing one of these for my Reo Grand.

I believe you still need to request the bottom fed base, BUT......for your money, I HIGHLY recommend the Reomizer 2.0 from reosmods. It's a MUCH (IMHO) better atty for cheaper. Really. Not my business, but I'm just sayin'......

EDIT: Oops....I see you've already ordered a couple of Reomizer 2.0s, and (I guess) are just looking for more/different. Sorry to .... in......

Have you read this whole thread? It just seems to me to be a LOT more hassle and money for an RBA that won't be any better than/as good as a Reomizer. Wait 'til you try the RM2....you'll see..... :) Carry on.....I'm shutting up. :)

pdib made an air adjustment ring.....but I can't find the thread right now! Also, I bought an RM2 off classifieds (came with a REO I bought) and the hole was drilled out W-A-A-A-Y too big for my tastes, so I put a ring of silicone (from the cover of a cartomizer) around it and block about half the hole. Looks a little funny, but it works to block the air intake. It's an idea. (Not a very good one....)

Maybe pdib will show up here (or someone else??? Help me, guys) with the link to his adjustment ring. It's pretty cool.

EDIT: Here it is!!!!! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ir-hole-battery-charge-its-all-connected.html

That's really cool! I just might have to make me some do those when I get some time. I might be a newbie but I have access to a private machine shop. So little time, so many ideas.

I was offered a free mill not too long ago - I wasn't sure what I would do with it. Now I'm thinking CNC. :)

Thank you JC
