I'll have to get with John or Steph and see about additional o-rings, but they're fighting the good fight today and then off to a trade show. There's a possibility they may even wait to see what Chris Creations can come up with organically, and suspend further development in OKC until that time.

Okay, after a few quick texts, been told the Fatty base has been upgraded and should handle the dry burns.

Party on, Garth.

I once set down an unlocked bottom firing mod, button down, with the Fatty v2 on it with a .8 ohm TR dual coil with NR wire, a freshly charged 2000mah AW IMR 18650, and walked away. My DT o-ring shrunk from the heat, but the Fatty v2 was completely unharmed (o-rings and plastic post included). I don't recommend it, but i was impressed

In an act of almost sacrilege, I earlier took a dremel to the long center bolt of my Fatty for it to work in a normal 510 connector to use in dripper mode. Discovered that the holes that let juice IN the Fatty will also let it OUT. Natch! Hoping it will eventually work in an open 510 adapter or at least that OKCVapes has a spare longer bolt.

Going to see if the Fatty will fit in the larger juice well of a Mini 2.1 today. Putting it on Sterno's mod (I honestly can't believe he didn't try it himself with his prototype.) Will try it out in long and short bolt configurations. Wish me luck. If it works, I just may have to get my own mod.

In the meanwhile, I'm using my VVG prototype with....a SR 510 atty! (Much to Sterno's consternation.) And if like him you're asking why, I've discovered I've got a bunch of fully functional ones after my reorganization of my mini man cave and vaping supplies, and it's honestly not that bad. I've been hitting the first one HARD for a few days, and it's sticking in there. I wish I labeled them better, and suspect it's possibly a Cisco. (The EM's, crap that they are, are at least clearly identified in gold lettering.)

So while I'm waiting for either a Fatty redesign, or adapter, a reomizer2, or possibly a mini 2.1, I'm relearning basic Reo skills. God bless JackMurray, wherever she is, for her discovery and advocacy of the blind squonk.

Postlogue: No luck with the Fatty on the 2.1. Damn. Honestly, 2mm more on the threaded 510 connection would make all the difference.

Okay, sealed shorty 510 seems to hold juice in a bit better in dripping mode with my precise plus 18650.

1.2 ohm coil on 3mm bulli wick allows min 5-7 drops. Not bad. Not Reo good, but not bad.

So, what does this manly mod need? Would you believe pink nail polish?

One of the things that I don't like about the air control ring on this 901 style RBA is that it tends to hide the air inlet hole when you restrict the air flow. The earlier version had a couple of fake holes-indentations, really-that allowed the user to know where the real hole was located to ensure it was pointed up rather than down for maximum efficiency. This updated version (dripper and bottom feeder alike) doesn't have this feature.

If the hole is pointed downward, you're not going to get a vape, so this isn't just my OCD. It's a minor inconvenience on a Reo, but a real nuisance on a symmetrical tube mod. But a field expedient fix, assuming a female is in your abode*, is to put a dash of bright nail polish on the top cap under the hole. I'd prefer white, but she doesn't wear it, so pink will have to do. It allows me to easily see where the air hole is located, and is durable enough to use without being permanent.

Today should be a light travel day, a morning (mumble mumble) meeting followed by a few hours of hopefully catch up in the office.

Wish me luck.

*Or, if you're a cross-dressing male. Either way; I'm not judging.

Nope. OKCVapes is busy right now leading the good fight against the ......... tobacco lobbyists and their paid monkeys (our state legislators) trying to tax and take over the local vape market.

And with the Reomizer 2.0 being released, I suspect he's punted to Chris Creations to see if they can redesign the RBA or at least come up with an adapter.

My 2 cents about the Fatty v2.

Regarding the design of the Fatty v2, it was made to be paired with the CCPV mod which is also made by Chris Creations. The CCPV has an adjustable +pin so you can make it as flush as you like.

For the most part the fatty sits right on the mods out here in the Philippines. Sucks to hear that the fatty doesn't fit right for some of you guys.

You can easily find 510 extension adapters here in the Philippines, at almost any Vapeshop. I'm sure there is a supplier in the States you can get one from.

I'm loving my Fatty btw

Yes, but it doesn't bottom feed too well with the unsealed 510 adapter like you suggested. John and Neil earlier came up with a jury rigged adapter, but even they thought it was less than ideal. Work has been suspended or has stopped while OKCVapes is leading the fight against anti-vaping legislation in Oklahoma. But truthfully, the Reomizer 2 with its features, performance and price point, may have ended this fight before it began. Hopefully my loan of half my Reo collection to Chris Creations may result in either a custom adapter or a redesign of the mod.

Don't get me wrong, the Fatty IS an excellent RBA. Mine is still being used in dripper mode, and it's still the go-to dripper for at least one or two other Reonauts I know. I love, love, love recoiling it compared to any other RBA that I've tried. If it consistently worked on my Reos, I probably wouldn't be using anything else.

Happy ending is that the other mod previously owned by Sterno went with me to the First Annual Reo Family Reunion yesterday, and I gave it to the first person whose Grand it fit on. Call me Prince Charming, but with a Fatty instead of a glass slipper. Ratman won the Fatty, and was appearing to enjoy it.

That'd be awesome if Chris Creations redesigned the fatty. It would open up the market a bit more.

I too love building on this thing. I built everything from a 3/4 wrap .20 twisted Kanthal on mesh to 4/5 wrap .32 kanthal dual coil. The fun is endless! I still yet have to try ceramic wick. It hasn't hit the Philippines yet.

You're the RBA Angel! Haha

Thank you Clyde and Sterno for bequeathing unto me this honor. I did not get to use it much at the reunion as I was unable to rinse out the remnants of your heavy tabacco liquid and it did not play well with the Unicorn Blood (Fuit Punch Skittles) juice I had loaded up. I did get a feel for the fiddle factor tho in the short time I used it, and it is right up my alley. A temperamental little filly that needs a skillfully patient but stern hand to coax the most of her. Yeah!!

I got OKC's fatty bottom feed modification for my fatty v2 when I was at vapefest. I also picked up the post upgrade as well.

The bottom feed mod works great. I bet it would be easy to modify yourself. Just need to press out the insulator and sand two sides down flat to allow for a passage for juice to flow through.

I stripped the threading on the posts within a day or two of use though. (way too delicate!) So, it hasn't gotten much use since then, because I'm too lazy to flip my positive screw over and put the o-rings back into my reo's 510 connector.

Spent some time reviewing your thread here Clyde. I gave the Fatty a good overnight alcohol soak and started over. Using your tips provided here such as the info on the o-rings etc. I set up a 1.0ohm coil on doubled over 3.0mm silica, loaded up some of Jacks Flaming Apple Fritter juice and it's vaping up a storm. The 3/4 o-ring in the 510 connector really does make all of the difference as you noted.

I am thoroughly enjoying playing with this thing and looking forward to trying different wicking materials in it. So far the only negatives I have is that the air hole will only line up on the front side of my Grands. I prefer it on the side opposite the button. And the o-rings that seal the cap are a bit too large making it difficult to get the cap to press onto the body, but that should be easily fixable. Thanks again!

I bought one today with the tank, anyone have good advice on how to fill the tank as there seems to be a pressure issue allowing the needle to fill the tank.

Huh, didn't even know there was a tank version! This thread is about the version made to work with bottom feeders like the Reo. Will have to go on the OKC vapes website just to check it out.

Half my Reo collection is on loan to the Phillipines until August to see if they can refine or adapt the design a bit. Loved the design in general, would be one of the best if they could get those issues mastered.

After some delays accompanied by mild anxiety, my Reos made it back unscathed from Chris Creations in the Phillipines.

There appears to be a long top, which fits in my Original Grands, VV Grands and even my Woodville, and a shorter one that is perfect for my 1st generation Mini!

Pics will be posted later tonight.

Damn, if only I had more than just one v2 top...
