What's your preference in kanthal and why? Just trying to absorb fellow vape knowledge

For round wire, my preference in Kanthal is: René41 27g, then Nichrome 26g . . . . . . .
(then Kanthal if that's all there is to be had).

I've never tried it, I recently got a kraken clone and I think ribbon wire might be great for it I like a subohm build but over .5Ω but my nimbus is a different story. Anyways I think ribbon might be good because of more surface area. Just make sure your atty looks ribbon friendly. I've read and seen videos of people having trouble with it.

Kanthal 32 gauge, but I tend to build higher-resistance coils (1.8 to 2.4 ohm depending on the number of turns) around a 2.5 mm core.
Right now I only have 28 gauge kanthal which is pretty universal to me. Lately I've been sticking to micro coils.
I really like twisted 29 with 32 and 29 with .6x.1 ribbon wire. Great flavor and vapor in drippers and in Kayfun style RTAs I like 30 gauge in my PT2s
It's a tie for me. I don't do subohm and so depending on the app i use 32 and 34 gauge wire 90 % of the time. My exception is on my RDAs but i still keep the resistance above 1.5 ohms so i can use it on any of my mods. I use the 30 gauge for my micro coils.
I will say my favorite wire is Kanthal 28 AWG ... because it's easy to work with.
I have some thinner 30 and 32 AWG, but I find this thin wire is kind of a pain when making coils ... at least for me.
On my Kayfun Lite Plus, I use 9 turns of 28 AWG wrapped around a 2.4mm (3/32") drill rod which makes a 1.6 - 1.7 ohm coil.
I feed this single coil between 8 and 9 watts. I also pull a double piece of cotton yarn through the coil for a wick ... easy
