We have a lot of manufacturer discussions but none dedicated to discussion of tobacco flavoring only. So let’s talk about your favorite tobacco flavoring regardless of who makes it. Let’s include TA's and WTA's in this discussion.

My favorite manufactures is a very short list

Hangsen
Inawera

I've also just recently sampled some TA and WTA from mother’s milk and was blown away by their real tobacco taste.

So let's here from the rest of you tobacco lovers.

Please let’s keep this discussion on point discussing only tobacco flavoring products and feel free to include your favorite tobacco recipes.

Fantastic idea, Danny. You're definitely one of the best there is, triple-certified Guru.

As somebody who started with tobacco flavors then moved on then re-discovered tobaccos, I concur.

Being able to sift through the dizzying array of tobacco flavors with the help of devotees who frequent this thread is a real treat.

I recently extracted flavors from several varieties of tobacco leaves. The result is the closest you can come to a true tobacco taste. I use just 2% of the extraction in some of my mixes. The result is better than any tobacco absolute I have ever tried.

There are a ton of tobacco varieties you can choose from at minimal cost - Virginia Flue Cured, Turkish Tobacco, Louisiana Perique and Latakia, just to name a few. Many even extract flavors from pipe tobaccos and even cigars. The work is a bit time consuming, but you will be rewarded handsomely.

Can't beat a good NET in my opinion, and it's so easy to do. Good tobacco generally equates to a good extract.

I would like to give making my own tobacco extract a try. I would be great if someone could point the way since there are so many kinds of tobaccos some leaf that would be close to the HS desert ship or highway and the catch is to find a Canadian source. I'm not too thrilled about carrying raw tobacco leaves over the border

Virginia Flue Cured seems to be the most popular tobacco leaf for extraction. There is also Canadian Flue Cured for a milder flavor. I get mine from LeafOnly.com They ship to Canada, but I don't know a Canadian source.

I've often thought about a cold extraction to give nets a try, but it's my understanding that nets tend to be pretty bad coil gunkers. Some of my favorite Ina and SC flavors are bad enough, especially if I add vanillas and caramels for my ry4 type variations.

Plus, if I haven't done so before, I'm ready to declare myself an SC fanboy. My latest mix is Island Tobacco. Just a really good tobacco with added flavors including coconut.

I've been making my RY4's from scratch for years.

So, what's your recipe for RY4?

I've been trying to mimic the EC Blends version of RY4, but no dice. It's about the only vendor pre-mix we buy any more. It's way too sweet for me, but my wife can't live without it. At .20 cents per ml, it's not a bad price, but I'd sure like to clone it.

The bit of research and looking for leaf tobac. This place Cigarette Tobacco
doesn't seem to rape you with shipping charge to Canada as bad as the others I was looking at. Any opinions on Whole Leaf Tobacco to order whole leaf from?

I have alway been happy with them. BTW, if you like the taste of Marlboros, they recommend a mixture of 80% Canadian and 20% American Flue cured Virginia.

Which one, Ive made so many but the base flavorings are tobacco, cream, and any combo of the following

Caramel
Vanilla
Chocolate.

Optional would be a touch of AP.

Can't say I've ever tried the EC blends so I'd be no help there.

I thought, perhaps, you had a favorite recipe that was your go to RY4 mix?

I'm working on a new one for my wife; it'll be too sweet for me, I'm sure, but it's her tastes buds I'm trying to please.

Once tried EC Blend Ry4, there is a seductive, deep, sugary burnt taste in it that I can't forget. Couldn't figure out what it is.

You just have to find the right caramel, after all caramel is just burnt sugar.

I would guess that it may be molasses without tasting it.
