In all reality I may be confusing nuttiness with funk, but IMHO they go hand in hand.

Funk to me is like the after taste you get from putting a dry piece of cloth into your mouth![]()
.................. Not very appetizing, or pleasant thought.
Oops, sorry... To me, a "funky" smell is musty or moldy, e.g. funky cheese, funky cellar, etc. As distinct from funky music or fashion, as in cool or chic. Interesting to see such divergent meanings depending on the subject. Found US slang reference applied to tobacco smoke and defined as "a strong foul odor". Might be the word sense Kingboomer was after; I could see using it for the likes of INW's Gold Doucat, TFA's M-Type, etc.

Hi everyone,
First, let me say I know nothing about tobacco diy. I am looking for a 555 blend flavor for my neighbor and I have read a little of this thread but it is quite long(lol). He likes an ejuice that provape puts out called White Horse and its description says 555 plus carmael and nuts. But I have looked a few places and cannot find a 555 tobacco flavor. Is it a blend of flavors or is there an actual flavor called 555? Can anyone point the way? And possibly suggest good starting %'s. I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks

Thank you so much. I will let you know how it turns out.Hangsen Highway is a very good 555 type flavor imo. I like it at 4% but I've seen posts from 2% to 7%. I'd say start low and work up. Hangsen No.5 is another 555 type that gets good reviews but I haven't tried it yet. I'd also suggest picking up some TFA Acetyl Pyrazine to bump up the nut flavor or for adding a nut flavor to other mixes. For caramel, I like TFA Caramel and Caramel Candy mixed. They're both good by themselves but better mixed imo. FA and Inawera Caramels are also good.
In case you haven't tried it, I'd also suggest getting some vanilla for a Ry4 type mix as well. Inawera Shisha Vanilla has been getting good reviews, see above.
555 type mix with caramel.
Hangsen Highway 4%
Caramel 2%
AP (Acetyl Pyrazine) 1 drop per 5ml
Add 2 or 3 percent Vanilla to the above for a Ry4 type mix.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Edit to add: I've never tried White Horse so I have no idea how the above would compare to it. Also, if you don't have some already, I'd suggest picking up some TFA sweetener just in case. But then again, I have a huge sweet tooth lol.
Try Hangsen Highway or FA Glory. Two excellent 555 types.Hi everyone,

Sahara? Has that slipped under my radar all this time? Or is that another name for Turkish? If you're looking for Turkish tobacco, Sahara from HS is the one. You can add the nutty taste with AP, or either hazelnut or peanut.
Did you ever try out the brown sugar with Arabic?I bought some brown sugar extra and some maple brown sugar ages ago I intended to try with my tobaccos and never got around to it. Now that you mentioned it, it peaked my interest again so I must dig them out and start experimenting. I think they will go really well with some of my NETs.
I think we have different tastes based on your vanilla preferences so far but shisha vanilla is worth a shot.it's strong btw. Thats one reason i like it. It can standout and be noticed where some others just arent that noticeable with other strong flavorsDid you ever try out the brown sugar with Arabic?
I'm in a mixing mood today - highly medicated from having dental surgery on my jawbone, again - so in a funky mood. My thoughts are
Arabic - 1.5%
Brown Sugar - 3% (this seems the norm I have settled on throughout all my potions)
AP 2% (again - this amount works for me)
Vanilla Swirl 2% - wish I had another straight up vanilla - I'm still searching even though I have many vanilla flavors - (I am ordering the INW shisha vanilla this weekend based on Slothy's recommendation!)
This will be a base sort of mix for me. I plan to add TFA DX Peanut Butter 8% to 30ml of this. I also want to try some chocolate. The only chocolate I have no hand is TFA Chocolate (the clear one). It's good for me at low percentage so thinking 1% as I only want a hint as to make the Arabic mixture have some depth. I have a chocolate/coconut/almond candy bar I just found in my flavor box! Hrm...never used this before but its strong smelling! I know I never ordered this - freebie? Oh the possibilities!
I've use Bourbon and vanilla bourbon in place of vanilla swirl and I don't care for it.
Yes, I think this is why I want to get some. Normally, my vanilla is only there to smooth or create a mouth feel - but Arabic is very strong flavor and I think I want the vanilla to be more pronounced than to simply serve as a binder bring all other flavors together.I think we have different tastes based on your vanilla preferences so far but shisha vanilla is worth a shot.it's strong btw. Well put. I think you'll dig the shisha vanilla, then. I mixed some into a dark for pipe mix and it is very noticeable. In terms of taste, it's sort of custardy but not really - just thick, creamy vanilla. Almost definitely has diacetyl or some diketones but when it tastes this good and is used at such low percentages, oh wellYes, I think this is why I want to get some.
