I just realized that I accidently posted this is the General E-Smoking Discussion, instead of the General Discussion, so if a mod wants to move this, that's cool.

Boca burgers ain't half bad. 10 flavors available at Wal-mart.
I eat regular boca burgers, and they've been getting bland, but I had no idea that there were other flavors though, that should spice things up a bit. Thanks for letting me know. I'm normally against spending money at super-conglomerates like Wal-Mart, I like to spend most of my money at places owned by individuals, not companies, but if it means having a more exciting dinner then I might drop by.
First, best thread title ever!

Second, are you saying you are a vegetarian and don't cook Indian food???

No offense, I am in no way a vegetarian, and I don't actually cook, but Indian veggie food is so astoundingly good if I could get it more easily I'd eat it very frequently. This is NOT bland! And no, that doesn't necessarily mean its going to burn your mouth out. Even on mild heat the flavors are amazing. You gotta check it out! (Not all Indian is veggie, but there is a lot of it.)

I've noticed no difference in my taste at this point, but then, I just like to eat.
I'm not a big fan of spicy food, and I've yet to come across Indian food that was mild enough for my liking. I mean, don't get me wrong, Indian food is amazing, I really do love it, but it's a painful ordeal for someone who doesn't have much of a tolerance to spicy foods.

Are you vegan? Do you eat eggs and cheese?
Nope, not vegan, I eat eggs and cheese, I love cheese so much, I could never go without it.

First, a disclaimer. I am wholeheartedly carnivorous and therefore may lack some sensitivity in these matters.

Now, for some veggie foods I have found quite tasty and definitely not bland. Broccoli, brussels sprouts, peas, wild rice, bell peppers, potatoes. Ok, I lack patience too. Pretty much all the veggies are quite tasty. It is that yucky tofu substance that never quite tastes like meat that is lacking flavor and substance. Why not try eating more produce and less of the processed stuff. There are other ways to get your soy proteins now, like in a smoothie - yum.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Burger King's veggie burgers are the Morningstar Farms brand. I just tried this brand's veggie breakfast sausage the other day - actually quite tasty for not being pork, reminded me of the beef sausage I got once at the Jewish deli.

I'm not having a problem with the taste of vegetables, they actually taste a lot better now, it's the meat-substitutes that are all of a sudden bland and boring. Thanks for telling me that Burger King's veggie burgers are Morningstar, I've only really bought Boca burgers. I'm not a big fan of soy yogurt or soy milk, although I can tolerate vanilla soy milk.

Get some veggie dogs, white onions, vegetarian chili, sourdough rolls, and sharp cheddar cheese - I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this...

I've yet to come across a veggie dog that tasted appetizing or remotely resembled the taste of a hot dog. Any brand you'd reccomend?

That vegetarian philly cheese-steak sounds really good though, I'm salivating over the thought of it.

If you'd like, I could have my wife PM you some good veggie recipes. You'd have to cook it, though. I just ate some of her sun-dried tomato ravioli. The other day I had sweet potato fries with a salmon burger (we do fish, milk, and cheese here). There's really a lot of versatility to vegetarian food... I only go carnivore 2-3 times a month, now!
I love cooking, so that would be no problem and greatly appreciated. I'm mostly looking for dishes to get my protien from.

if you've ever been to Chili's, they have the best veggie burger i've ever had, a black bean burger. I'm omnivorious, but in a battle between beef and the black bean burger, the black bean burger wins. you might be able to find a recipie online.

For some reason, despite living in one of the most over-crowded suburban areas in the country I don't know where there is a chili's near me. However, I have literally five 7-11's within a one mile radius of my house though, and there's another 2 just beyond one mile.

Eggs are chock full of protein - the egg whites are incredibly good source of protein (makes me think twice about calling chocolate meringue pie a junk food). Don't forget that legumes - beans and nuts - are also great sources of protein. Soy is not your only option. You can also dress up your faux meats. I, personally, put garlic powder on everything that sits still. I love to marinate my meats in Italian dressing or balsamic vinaigrette. This is an opportunity to get creative. Who knows you may be the next great vegetarian chef taking his first small steps toward culinary delight.

After 4 years serving food to the most health conscious group of people I have ever met, it appears that cheese is some sort of miracle food. It seems to make anything palatable. The only thing better than cheese in the eyes of these medical professionals, is deep fried cheese or something deep fried dipped in cheese.

How about Boca burger parmigiana? Boca burger with an egg wash, dipped in italian bread crumbs and parmesan cheese, lightly pan fried. Then drizzled with marinara and generously slathered with a thick layer of mozzarella.

I put garlic on everything too. I tend to shy away from powders and dried things though, always go for the fresh stuff when you can, it really makes a big difference.

I eat eggs, I don't really like them though, lol. Beans are not a good source of protein for a vegetarian because most of them don't have all 9 essential amino acids, they have to be coupled with other foods to become a complete protein. And I can't keep tract of what I eat enough to make sure that I'm getting all 9 amino acids from different foods, so I like to stick to plants which have all 9 by them self, like hemp and soy.

I like eggplant parmigiana, but boca burgers just don't have the right taste/texture for that kind of dish, I've tried it. As a hobby chef, I might be a bit more picky about tastes and flavor/texture combination, so that's just my opinion.

For other veggies, in the NY metropolitan area, there's this restaurant in between china town and little italy in manhatten and they also have a location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (a great town btw, great music festivals during the summer) called Wild Ginger. They serve traditional asian-american dishes like sweet and sour chicken and general tso's chicken and stuff, with textured soy protien in place of chicken or seitan (wheat protein) in place of steak and I don't know how they make this stuff but it tastes amazing and the texture is exactly like chicken or steak. It's amazing.

Hippies were all the same. once they finally decided to work they became the establishment that they fought so hard to change, and while you may be able to show me a few exceptions to the rule, the sad fact is that the "hippies have been running this country for a fair amount of time and were probably worse then their predecessors. Even the bands who never wanted to commercialized are now allowing their music to be used to sell every product you can think of. hippies never existed it was just a phase.
