its long, but I uploaded as a file..maybe it will help someone else out,,,

I am 46 and was a 2 pack a day smoker of marlboro reds for 35+ years,The Killer's as I call them, and I had tried many times to quit, about 8-9 times before I found electronic cigarettes.

I tried the patch,it worked for about 2 weeks, then I found myself putting 2 on at a time, then I found myself smoking with it on,thats when I knew it wasnt working.I tried the gum,BUt I did not like the taste it left in my mouth, and the thought of chewing on something then later when I am craving again, find it and use it,just did not appeal to me,but I did try.I tried the lozenges,Now the lozenges worked for my wife, and worked for about 3 weeks for me,but the craving came back and I started smoking again. And I found myself not really being able to concentrate well on any of these, although the patch did help on that front some, and the lozenges,my body felt like it was missing something.I believe that something was just being able to inhale nicotine anytime I wanted as I used to do with a real cigarette..

Then about 2 years ago I found A vendor for electronic cigarette systems online, and since I have started using that,I have yet to pick up a cigarette,I did try a "few" drags over the next 2 months of originally starting, but the taste was so bad,I did not even know that I could inhale such a destructive "smoke"when I was smoking.

Now it is almost 2 YEARS later, and I have not touched a cigarette since then.My Doctor, the 2 doctor's that I see, both medical doctors.are amazed at how well my lungs are sounding as I get a check-up about every 6 months for an (unrelated to smoking) issue. They really are very happy that I have quit smoking and they can tell by my cradiovascular readings that I am healthy, and within normal range of a healthy adult 46 y.o. male..

I started with 34mg/Ml. of nicotine in my "nicotine mix" and am now after 2 years, down to 20mg.I am slowly working my way down, and while I dont know if I will ever stop "vaping" as it is called,I do know that "vaping" has given me my life back.I no longer feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest,I no longer have bronchitis every 6 months and have to go see the doctor, and I find that I can actually start on a healthy regimen of jogging and NOT feel like I have needles in my lungs when I run 1/4 mile.It has helped my family and I on our medical bills,as I have no need to go to the doctor at LEAST 2 times a year to get medications for mucous build-up,and/or lung infections.AND I CAN BREATHE..

I dont really feel that there should be a time limit on using any of the NRT's.I could of possibly stuck with the patch if it had a higher amount of nicotine in it,but even then,at the low levels it does have caused me discomfort on my skin, and a rash whereever the patch was put.

and e-cigarettes should not be made less effective by setting nicotine doses too low.As I alluded too before I smoked 2 PACKS A DAY of marlboro red shorts, and If I had started too low,I honestly dont think I could of got to where I am now.I am now at 20mg. and for now it is working, and if I can lower it I will,I have lowered it over the last 2 years and I foresee myself going even lower, but I dont think it would of worked if I had started at 20mg.I had to start at 34mg/ml.I had to be able to "FIND" what worked for me..

I started off with tobacco type flavored e-liquid because I thought I needed it to taste like a real cigarette,I found out quickly that it was not the case, and while I do still vape some cigarette flavored e-liquid,I also enjoy fruity type flavors and even beverage flavors.Sound strange? well the fact is that when one quits smoking taste buds come back to life, the sense of smell starts working better, and it is nice to be able to change flavors,as some become "dull" sometimes, and a vape of a new flavor is very welcome,It is still 20mg/ml,but it keeps me off "real" cigarettes. That is what I am going for,to get my health back.

I urge you to please, not propose the "DEEMING" regulation because it would ban and/or would sharply increase the price and reduce accessibility to what has given me my life back,E-cigarettes,even if the FDA exempted e-cigarettes from the most erroneous provisions in chapterIX..

I also would ask that the FDA remove inaccurate and/or misleading information such as "For example, many people believe that e-cigarettes are very likely to cause cancer or poison the user because the FDA “forgot” to mention that the amount of carcinogens detected in liquid are no higher than in pharmaceutical nicotine products such as the patch and gum, and that the only toxin detected was in an amount that has never been shown to endanger health."

Everyone is amazing right here. All of our efforts. We have together brought this issue from perhaps a couple hundred comments, to well over 1,000. Don't lose this spirit people. There is a war against not just what we enjoy, but what is helping better, even save our lives.
This is one battle. Be ready for the next, it's coming. Stay informed- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...2013-e-cigarettes-other-tobacco-products.html

I would urge Congress to please consider the harm that would be caused if electronic cigarettes were banned. All current e-cig users would be forced to either return to regular killer cigarettes or buy e-cigs on the black market. Personally, I would elect to do the latter of the two, because I value life and e-cigs have given me a new lease on life. I am a 64 year old man and served my country 4 years in the Marine Corps. Likewise I served my state (Pa) for 25 years in the State Police. I even served my county 8 years as a County Detective. I think I am entitled to use e-cigs if I so desire without the FDA telling me I can’t. I smoked cigarettes since I was 10 years old, and for years I tried every way possible to quit (gum, patches, Chantix) and failed miserably with all. Then 2 ½ years ago I gave e-cigs a try and I haven’t touched a killer cigarette since. My doctor told me my lungs have cleared up, my blood pressure is down to normal and I can actually walk 3 miles daily without killing myself. Either God, Congress or the FDA will ever convince me that e-cigs are harmful to me. If you want to ban something, please let it be traditional killer cigarettes; they are killing 500,000 people a year….to date I have not heard of one death from e-cigs. I can’t understand why a Gov’t agency entrusted to protect people from harm, would ever consider banning a life saving product. All they will succeed in accomplishing is making criminal out of otherwise law abiding, tax- paying citizens, myself included. They have far too much power and should be brought down a notch or two. Please help us, the common people, to stop the FDA from abusing their power. I’m sure you will receive test results from numerous sources including, Elaine Kristin of the CASAA. “Men with power have an extraordinary capacity to convince themselves that what they want to do coincides with what society needs done for its (own) good”.

I am assuming that this is the same one (comments link) that I had commented on
prior to January 2nd.

And like frosting did---
I may have even commented (posted) twice as while I was posting the first time,
something happened at the end where it gives a number to track your comment later.
I lost it before I could write it down and seeing there are only 20 comments showing
so far, I wanted to make sure my comment and Attachment file got in -- So I did it
again a couple weeks ago.

I'm a Canadian Citizen, living in Canada does my input count?

Hi Projectguy :)
I am sure that any comments to keep e-cigs would help everywhere... Canada included.
The way I see it... comments from outside the USA will also show that there are many
people all over the world who think regulation of something like this is just plain goofy.

I have so much on my plate with everything that is going on that I can't think straight... lol

I am also involved in the Gun Rights movement and the legislation on that ... and in my
state, our gongressional rep is one of those people who likes to find blame in anything...
so part of their idea is we have to look at video games and movies as possible culprits.

Funny thing is, on the same day as the terrible incident in Conn... one happened in
China by a man with a knife in a school (partly because it is illegal for a citizen in China
to own a gun) so he used a knife -- Proving the theory that "Gun Control" doesn't work.

So I have a lot going on....

I see by the Gov site that they have 1,525 Comments Received... That is good but too
bad it isn't 15,000 or 150,000...

Let's Make That Happen :)

P.S. --- Just suvmitted again :)

And I too don't care if they get mad at me for it because they need to hear it and I don't
want them just seeing a comment was posted and disregard it.

God I am so easily entertained...

I am addicted to nicotine the same way some people are addicted to caffeine. Neither of which, by themselves, are as harmful as alcohol – something easily available, commercially promoted and frequently marketed to appear innocuous. I recently saw an alcohol-containing beverage at the grocery store called, “Naughty Cow Chocolate Milk for Grown-Ups.” I am not condemning or condoning that product, I’m trying to emphasize a realistic perspective. I’ve read it claimed that more deaths result from tobacco use than alcohol use, but that pertains to smoking tobacco, not nicotine use. There is no “Mothers Against Nicotine Driving.”

They did and it is awesome :)

CASAA sent an email to our list of 3,000 registered members (those who don't want to get emails can check a box to opt out--but if you 're going to join CASAA to fight the ANTZ, why would you not want to stay informed?).

I also received an email message from NJOY (my first product, back in 2008.)

Just posted my comments. This will be truely tragic if I can't use my E Cig. I believe that without it I would have surely died of a smoking related illness as I just could not quit smoking until I tried an E Cig. I am also outraged that money and politics is being put above the health and well being of people.
