Oh great! 587+ suicides is evidence of safety for a BP drug and FDA decides that warning labels should be removed. See this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...s/574268-fda-launches-open-access-portal.html

But ZERO deaths from ecigs (in about the same timeframe actually) and FDA wants to ban most vaporizers and affix false and misleading health warning and grotesque imagery on the others.

BTW - it says the studies only recorded problems that resulted in hospitalization; but, of course, dead bodies don't require hospitalization, so those were not included as adverse reactions to the drugs. Looks like BP is taking a page out of the book ANTZ Approach Science for Dummies only this time they use the same tactics to pretend their deadly drugs are "safe and effective."

That is insane.

This is my favorite:

Some people have had changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions while using CHANTIX to help them quit smoking. Some people had these symptoms when they began taking CHANTIX, and others developed them after several weeks of treatment or after stopping CHANTIX. If you, your family, or caregiver notice agitation, hostility, depression, or changes in behavior, thinking, or mood that are not typical for you, or you develop suicidal thoughts or actions, anxiety, panic, aggression, anger, mania, abnormal sensations, hallucinations, paranoia, or confusion, stop taking CHANTIX and call your doctor right away. Also tell your doctor about any history of depression or other mental health problems before taking CHANTIX, as these symptoms may worsen while taking CHANTIX.

Do not take CHANTIX if you have had a serious allergic or skin reaction to CHANTIX. Some people can have serious skin reactions while taking CHANTIX, some of which can become life-threatening. These can include rash, swelling, redness, and peeling of the skin. Some people can have allergic reactions to CHANTIX, some of which can be life-threatening and include: swelling of the face, mouth, and throat that can cause trouble breathing. If you have these symptoms or have a rash with peeling skin or blisters in your mouth, stop taking CHANTIX and get medical attention right away.

Before starting CHANTIX, tell your doctor if you have a history of heart or blood vessel problems. If you have new or worse heart or blood vessel symptoms during treatment, tell your doctor. Get emergency medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a heart attack or stroke.

The most common side effects of CHANTIX include nausea (30%), sleep problems, constipation, gas and/or vomiting. If you have side effects that bother you or don't go away, tell your doctor. You may have trouble sleeping, vivid, unusual or strange dreams while taking CHANTIX. Use caution driving or operating machinery until you know how CHANTIX may affect you.

CHANTIX should not be taken with other quit-smoking products. You may need a lower dose of CHANTIX if you have kidney problems or get dialysis.

Vaping side effects:

Breathe better
Smell better
White teeth
More active
Happy

So tell me what's wrong with this picture

I tried chantix 3 or 4 years ago, first off that crap is EXPENSIVE.
I made me feel paranoid, and uneasy all the time, and only served to make me want to smoke even more.
I suppose it may work for some people, more power to them if it does, but I would not recommend it to anyone.

For me vaping has given me a new lease on life, and would have no problem recommending it to any future exsmoker.

Hmmm... click!

There were several limitations to these larger studies. First, they only recorded problems that resulted in hospitalization, meaning many issues likely went unreported. Additionally, the studies were conducted after news of Chantix's side effects had been widely reported, which means doctors may have steered patients with a history of psychiatric issues toward the alternate therapies.

The new FDA label isn't all positive. It also contains new information about risks of seizure and interactions with alcohol among Chantix patients.

The truth is out there... way out there. Or the truth is out there... if you have enough smarts to read between the lines.

ETA: So, I wonder if successful suicides that landed someone straight in a morgue and bypassed all that hospitalization stuff weren't counted? Define the parameters narrow enough and you can get any result you want from a pile of statistics.

Are you flippin’ kidding me? Nice timing. These buffoons are holding a review of Chantix side effects next month. FDA to Examine Quit-Smoking Pill Chantix - NBC News Guess we know how that review will go. There will also be a murder trial coming up using Chantix use as a defense. San Diego Man Claims Anti- Smoking Drug Made Him Kill Ex-Wife | The Fix

And there is this New murder trial for soldier who claims anti-smoking drug made him psychotic | Air Force Times | airforcetimes.com

And this Chantix, smoking cessation drug, blamed in murder-suicide | OregonLive.com That one may be a little dicey though.

Just remember - if the user went straight to jail and didn't land in a hospital then it apparently won't count as an adverse effect.

God I hope you're kidding me.

Read the Yahoo news feature. Without digging up the actual studies Pfizer is pushing at the FDA to review, apparently they only counted adverse effects that required hospitalization in their "large" scale studies. You know BP - how much do you expect them to quibble over the very details they are eliminating from their own studies.

Oh okay, I thought you were talking about a court of law.

I know how they do studies. I liked the one they just did where they didn't go back and count people who actually quit smoking by using vaping, only counted the ones that didn't quit. Makes sense to me, after six very stiff drinks.

Don't you be taking any Chantix if you are drinking that much. (Don't they have a pill for that too? Why yes, yes they do...)
