in the u.s., the brunt of these regs will not affect us for two years

in australia or in other parts of the world i think you might indeed suffer in a number of ways

1. reduced options for american made eliquid and/or american made mods. I don't now how many mod makers might be out there in Australia but if you rely in anyway on american products, expect to pay more.

2. The U.S., like it or not continues to be a world leader and sets the tone for the rest of the world in these types of initiatives. That's not to say that they have any governing power in Australia but I could certainly see your leaders following the American or European protocols once they go into affect.

So in laymans terms when do the FDA rules come into effect...
Simple question, right? No, not even close.

First the proposed rules must pass through the comment period.
At that point they can be changed, and we will likely never see what those changes are until it's over.

Then the final rules go to the Office of Management and Budget for approval.
The OMB can either pass them or send them back for more work.

And when/if they ever pass the OMB they go to Congress, who can reject them if they decide to do so.
If they do not, then they go to the President for approval.

and are they a good thing for vaping?[
As for whether or not they are a good thing...

To quote Nancy Pelosi...
“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”

Whether or not they are a good thing depends on your faith in the FDA.

But if you are REALLY interested in determining whether or not they are a good thing...

a) You will either have to research and come to your own conclusions, or...
b) You can listen to what other people think about it

And if you choose (b) then you can find all kinds of opinions, which leads you back to (a) again.
The majority opinion, if that helps, is that NO they are NOT a good thing at all.
