Hummmm, wonder how this will work with the state & federal taxes on tobacco. Nicotine is not tobacco so I don't understand how FDA can regulate this as a tobacco product. I understand trying to control snake oil makers but will this mean we will have to pay tobacco taxes on nicotine juice?
I wonder though, I don't believe high end insecticides carry the same tax burden as tobacco products (which some are almost pure nicotine) and nic juice bears more resemblance chemically to those products. I might have to go start bugging my friend who owns a Pest Control service....

They are going to have to tread carefully there. Nicotine sulfate is a necessary pesticide for large scale organic farming. Unless the government wants to cripple that industry, they are going to have problems taxing "nicotine" on it's own. It's going to have to be tied to use, or they will have to give a tax rebate if made into nicotine sulfate.
This ruling will inevitabley change the way e-Cigs and liquid are sold as well. As it stands today, cigarettes are NOT allowed to be sold over the internet. Is this going to be the way they put a stop to all of the smaller sellers? There will likelt be a slough of new rules and regulations as to how these products are marketed and sold. Certianly there will be compliance issues that will be handed down as well. Will the "little guys" be able to survive in that new environment? I sure hope so!
