Awesome! I hope you're ready to record this, even if that means using your phone to video the screen...

Bad news, gang. I have to give a final December 10th. Luckily it's from 8am to 10am EST, so I won't miss much. I'll try and set up some kind of screen-recording software. They claim that they'll post videos and transcripts "as soon as possible", although I don't know whether this is for those who registered, or everyone.

I'll try and grab those videos, if nothing else. The registration is supposed to close the 25th, tomorrow. I didn't affiliate myself with any organization (they asked in the SurveyMonkey survey, and said due to extreme interest, they might have to limit participation from a single group. I don't know if this applies to in-person attendance only).

Let me bounce a thought off you guys:

Two days of video capture at my end is easily a couple of Terabyte's of data. Think filling a 2 TB hard disk. Then Iv'e got to place all this data where you folks can see it. This is a huge amount of data and very time consuming to move it around. Finally, we may have a legal issue (think IP) but I'm not sure till I ask and consult. I'm very very conservative in this respect.

IDEA: What if I captured only the audio and that would be a MP3 file or should I say many but very very small compared to video. Does this interest you and would you listen?

:)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to test and provide feedback. :)

I switched to a "vertical player" for those on mobile devices like the iPhone etc. Same functionality for desktops as before. A tad "wonky" on my 4s but it works. A quick back of the napkin calculation ballparks two days of audio occupies about 1 Terabyte of data. /lol Not to worry. I have plenty of available storage at both ends.

Maybe reduce the bit count? Voice doesn't need the same fidelity as music, and a lower bps would radically lower the size of the files.

LOL

I thought I had the settings cranked to the smallest file size. WRONG! Back to geek school. Thanks all. Cranked all the way to the smallest file size is about 11MB per hour of audio recording and still plays/sounds fine. That's quite manageable and avoids any post processing so two days of audio is ballpark only around 180MB.

Can I get a copy of your audio, if you're still planning on recording this? If you're posting it publically, good enough. If not, can you PM me? I was lined up to be home for it, but wound up having to work. Thanks!

I'm still planning on recording both days. Seems a bit more organized and respectful if I post notice and updates to Bill's thread at:

Alarms are set. Server is cued. Blessed by SJ. :) Got to go beddy by early. :)
