I'm surprised AEI would want/allow Gottlieb back after he lied about nicotine and teen vaping, and after he proposed/imposed banning flavored vapor products at many retail stores (which violates the TCA), banning all vapor product sales in 2021, banning cigarettes (by sharply reducing nicotine levels) and banning flavored cigars.

And while AEI promotes free markets, Gottlieb embraced the cigarette monopoly protecting TCA, and Mitch Zeller's subsequent cigarette monopoly protecting FDA Deeming Rule (that banned the sale of all vapor products on 8/8/2018). The only thing Gottlieb did to benefit the vaping industry (but mostly to benefit himself) was to delay the execution date for the vapor industry until 8/8/2022, which FDA's recent draft guidance changed to 8/8/2021 (just 28 months from now).

He also elected to ignore then "No new products may be introduced after 8/8/16 without an approved PMTA" portion of the Deeming Regs.
