I guess 24mg is waaay higher nicotine than the Basic Ultra Lights I smoke. I got my Vapor4Life kit last night, fired that puppy up this morning, and coughed so hard I almost choked. Ya'll call it "throat hit", but it burned like lighter fluid to me. During the day I've read some more and modified the way I take a drag off this thing, but now I'm light headed and a little spinney. I should have got the 12 mg or something. Plus, no vapor at all is coming out of my mouth. Zip. I'll keep trying. 8 hours without an analog stick so far. It will be harder at home than here at work.

What model pv are you using? You can buy some food grade Vegetable Glycerin (sometimes just labeled Glycerin) from a supermarket or chemist and dilute the juice with it 50/50 however this will also reduce the flavor some.

You can buy it at Michael's arts/crafts store near the cake decorating stuff, some pharmacies near the first aid/skin care area, you can get PG by the gallon at feed and seed farming stores - they use it on sheeps wool.

I didn't know that thanks! I bought some VG at the local craft store but didn't know PG was available. :)

You can also buy Glycerin (VG) at Walmart. It's on the shelf above the rubbing alcohol in the pharmacy section for $3.00 (6 ounces or 177 mL). If you add 1/2 VG and 1/2 eliquid, the nicotine strength would be 12mg, the throat hits should be MUCH better, and you shouldn't cough. You'll just have to experiment with the % of Glycerin that works the best for you. Good luck!

By the way, adding Glycerin will give you lots of vapor. VG=vapor, PG=throat hits. Adding Glycerin might decrease the flavor some, but some eliquids are so flavorful, you might not notice any difference. Depends on the supplier you buy the liquids from. Some are so mild they aren't enjoyable to vape (as has been my case in the last week from three suppliers I won't mention). Some eliquids are great, result in throat hits that bring tears to your eyes (good tears, not from coughing), and make you want to just vape constantly (like the way I feel about RY4 from FreedomSmokeUSA.com).

I found the Glycerin at Walmart in the first aid section, by the calamine lotion and band aids stuff. Thanks for saying it's VG because I looked the bottle all over and couldn't find out if it was PG or VG:) Now I know it's VG and can use it!

I take a drag off this thing, but now I'm light headed and a little spinney. Plus, no vapor at all is coming out of my mouth. Zip.

This isn't based on any sort of research or anything, but when I flood my atomizers, there is very little vapor produced, but I still feel a strong i-just-inhaled-alcohol-vapors sensation and feel a very strong does of nicotine start pumping through my veins. My really-more-of-a-best-guess hypothesis is that:

  1. eliquid surrounding the coil keeps it too cool to properly vaporize and/or prevents the proper airflow needed to turn the liquid to a vapor
  2. nicotine still evaporates perfectly fine at the temperature and/or rate of air flow that it's possible to achieve with a flooded atty
  3. so does the alcohol used in the flavorings and added for TH

So, you get a near-invisible hit of basically pure nicotine and alcohol, which can produce the sensation you're talking about. I smoked way stronger cigarettes than you and use weaker juice, so I never get the whole nicotine buzz thing going on, but I can still tell when I've had more nicotine than my body is used to and this happens a lot when trying to vape the excess fluid out of a flooded atty.

I'd suggest taking your atty off of the battery, removing the cart, and blowing from the bridge end out the threaded end and into a napkin or whatever's handy, then putting the thing back together and seeing how that treats you. Also, the suggestions others had about cutting it with VG were a good idea, since 24mg is a pretty strong juice for someone who smoked like you did.

I don't know how you're using your kit, and it seems odd that it would have flooded right from the start, since I have to assume you're using carts, but...that's what it sounds like is happening to me - but I could very much be completely wrong.

Wow, folks, thanks for the info. I got the Vapor4Life kit and their cartomizers. I wish I would have read about the VG at Wally Mart before I changed into my lay around the house clothes. I'll go in the morning. I am going to try lostsync's idea of blowing some out and then dripping in some VG. I bought a buttload of 24mg carts and don't want to waste them.

Glad you found it. The three Walmarts I've been in since I started vaping have the Glycerin bottles on the shelf above the rubbing alcohol, which is usually in the isle with the calamine lotion and band aids, I think.

The important thing to watch for is the "USP" that will be listed on the bottle to the right of the word "Glycerin."

Also, for those who will be looking to buy Walmart's Glycerin, the bottle has a white label with navy blue and red on the label.

I got this idea from watching several YouTube videos about mixing liquids back when I started vaping -- and it has helped me a lot when mixing the pre-filled liquids I've bought, blending the liquids, increasing vapor, increasing the amount of liquid I have available, lessening nicotine strength, lessening stronger flavors, and keeping the syringe plunger's black bulb from getting stuck inside the syringe. I dip the black bulb in some VG before I plunge the plunger into the syringe. This was recommended by another poster here, and it works great.

If there's no liquid in the atty when you drip some VG into it, it might not taste too good, possibly will have a little sweet taste or no taste. I would mix the VG with some eliquid first and then drip onto the bridge of the atty....start with 50% of each and then adjust the ratio until it fits your tastes.
