vape when you can and smoke when you have to.

I did that for quite awhile and woke up one day to discover I had forgotten to smoke the day before. So, I'm not sure how someone can "fall off the wagon". It's my path and I walk alone. There is nobody driving a wagon that I have to jump on or be left behind. Try it. It's just a step. Anybody can take one step. Then do it again. Keep trying that and you'll be amazed at the distance you can cover with just one tiny step at a time without be subject to the whims of the wagon driver.

I've been smoking a few a day and vaping like a fiend for over a year. I'm proud of the fact that Ecigs made me a half pack a day or less smoker instead of my previous 2-3 PAD habit.

I'm finding lately that I can easily go for hours without a cigarette and not get the "gotta have one" jitters. My wife has some Welbutrin that she is about to start using. Once we quit buying them, I think I will quit for good.

A good habit to get into is vaping heavy when you feel the urge. See if it destroys the immediate urge to smoke. Once you get that into your head, it becomes natural and you will find that over time, the urge to smoke goes away. Like my doctor said, decide on one cigarette a day that you AREN'T going to smoke. Drop that one. A few days later, drop another one.

My weakness is morning coffee in front of the laptop. I always want to have a cigarette or two with my coffee. That represents my greatest potential for cutting one out.

I'm curious if you know what made you "fall off the horse"? What equipment were you using?
+1

Specifically, what battery and what atomizer or cartomizer? And what didn't you like about it? Not delivering sufficient hit? Too much of a hassle to use (and specifics within that)?

Also, what nicotine level were you using (maybe you need to up it) and what e-liquid (some juice tastes wonderful and packs a kick; some juice is terrible)?

With this kind of information, almost certainly any of us vets could help you get back on the wagon (or "on the horse" if you prefer).

The thing that actually works better than high wattage is new flavors and new toys. I make all my own juices, and getting a new set of flavorings to try out does an excellent job of making me forget to smoke. Or getting a new PV I have always wanted to try. Having a new love affair with a 3.7V KGO at present...with a LR Boge carto its just fantastic to me. Even so, I am not often 100% successful, still have a few here and there. So for now its still a smoking alternative, rather than a 100% cessation tool. I think for some smoking is really really deep seated, behaviorally, chemically, psychologically, but even if you are simply strongly cutting back, you are still better off. My attitude is if you were smoking 2-3 PAD, you were shelling out mad money for smoking, so treat yourself with a nice new PV. You would have spent the money anyways, and when I treat myself to some new vaping things, which cost much less than a months worth of smoking even 1 PAD, it really goes a long way.

I like to mix it up with various devices, flavors, wattages, etc. For me there is no one vape, there is fun vape, so be good to yourself and have fun! That works for me pretty well. Oh, and additionally, just nic might not be enough for you. Its not for many here, and swedish snus is VERY effective in getting you the rest of the tobacco alkaloids and killing cravings.
