well fell off the wagon, i guess i will go back to my original "cigarette reduction program" and try to stay below 1 pack from 2 packs a day, did i try to achieve too much too soon?

may 26 smoked 00 cigs 40 less than my usual 40 cigs a day 814 cigarettes not smoked in 22 days by using a Joye 510 Vaporizer (ecig) $0.28 per cig X 814 Cigs = $227.92 diverted from cigarettes to Vaporizer (ecig) XXXXXXX may 26 started smoking again

it's just strange to me that with just a little bit of stress i am back on cigarettes, was i somehow lying to myself about how great these ecigs are? it was kinda like me in my younger days when i would "choke up on the 8 ball" while playing pool, i'd never see it coming but it was always there.

and last night i even purchased online :

Qty. Products Total 5 ea. 510 E-Cig Cartridges

Cartridge Shape - Round
E-Cig Type - Joye 510
Cartridge Color - White

$9.25 1 ea. DK TAB/tobacco Bottle Size - 30 ml
Nicotine Strength - 24 mg (High)

$9.95 10 ea. 30ml Dropper Bottle - Empty $7.50 $26.70
Sub-Total:

$26.70

Dont give up and dont beat yourself up just get back on the horse, I had to wean myself off the smokes, I still have my moments that my Head says it wants a smoke because im under alot of stress but i was once told to have a back a plan and for me it is a plain jane 510 manual ecig with 36 mg Tobacco flavor juice and the only time i use the 510 is when i need the feel of a cig in my hand the taste of a cig in my mouth and It has helped me, just dont give up, we didnt get hooked to cigs over night and we are not gonna break the habit over night. You can do this dont give up , baby steps

Falling off isn't a big deal, not getting back on would be a big deal :)
Two steps forward one back, dust self off, try again - no need to feel so bad.
I took 10 days to give up smoking, and if I want one now I have it - thing is I dont ever make it through a whole one, but Im not hard on myself for doing it - guilt isn't productive.
Vape on :)

keep on truckin, I've had a real rough two weeks, and last saturday I had I had a handful of analogs. Captjay is right, guilt is productive...I haven't had one since, although this week hasnt showed much improvement over the last two. I still don't consider myself to be an ex-smoker, I just choose to vape. If i want one i have one, it jsut turns out that i dont usually want an analog.

Yup,I agree. The 510 didnt do it for me either. I was still hittin the "death sticks" from time to time. So I bought a 901,STILL hittin the D.S.'s,grrr So I traded the 901 for a 401 and now I am "death stick" free for almost 3 months now. Point being we are not all the same. Maybe the 510 isnt gonna be your unit, maybe it is. BUT as long as you dont give up. You too will be "death stick" FREE !!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

I got off the analogs before the self extinguishing ones came out. I tried one the other day, if you needed another reason to give them up that was it. Gettin back on the wagon, what I would suggest is, if you normally use 24mg have some 36mg or what ever it takes for the high stress days. Get some of the 54mg eliquid and mix your own. I've gotten eliquid from a top supplier before that seemed weak. Also keep your atomizer, and battery in good condition. One of both can be working but not preforming the way they should and it will drop nicotine level. If you are committed to getting off analogs and follow what I suggested you should never want an analog again. I know several 2 and 3 packs a day guys, me being one of them that never looked back!!! If you got your nicotine level right within a week you should be totally off the analogs, and within month you should be running for fresh air when someone fires one the stinking fire hazards up.

Yeah, stress is the real PITA for me, as well. I fell off the wagon for a couple of months, and just recently hopped back on it again.

Don't sweat it. Every single day that you don't spend smoking is a great thing. Take your time, cut down, learn which model/juice/nic strength work the best for you, and try again. Don't beat yourself up over the little slip-ups, but praise yourself for the cigs avoided.

Don't know why you'd beat yourself up over such a small thing.

Cigs are easy. You've smoked so many for so long that there is not even any thought in the smoking. It will be more than a few weeks before your PV is in the same range.
My smoke habit was so well ingrained that one day I was driving down the road wondering how a lit cig got in my hand and half smoked. Discovered it when I went to get my PV out.

You still have to think about vaping. Remember to keep batteries charged, an extra atty, a few extra carts on your person. Not as effortless as the quick pat-down while heading out the door we did with cigs.

I had to step up to 36mg nearly constantly to kick my cravings. Now I just keep some 36mg on hand for when that occational urge comes up. It tooks me a number of weeks before I stopped picking up the cigs, but the urges did taper off.

Vape when you can. Smoke when you have too. Relax. Enjoy. It's all about the journey not the destination anyway.

after being cigarette free for 3 weeks i seem to have forgotten how bad second hand smoke smells in this small apartment and i only smoked 7 cigs, it nearly made me sick, the cigarettes themselves tasted great but the second hand smoke made me a bit sick and i have a 24 inch fan in the window.
for some reason i do not like my 510 today, i am using this over priced, over rated "Super Cigarette" with no spare parts but it is an automatic and looks more like a cigarette, i still have 10 full cartridges of "Marl High" which i foolishly ordered before realizing that it would cost me $84 to replace and it comes from assie land so about $14.95 for shipping alone.

i think i may look for one of those silly automatic "super minis?"

Dude, smoking has not killed you yet. Just try to vape when you dont need a cigarette. For example if you are at work and are stressed smoke a cig, if you are at home on the forum vape. In time it will work you have already proven that it does, I have not smoked in six months and feel if I had a regular cigarette that it would be ok. I dont do that but you get the idea, some people can quit the same day they recieve there e cig others like myself have known about them since last june but never had the right e cig gear to do it, and quit in November. GL and Hope this helps!!

It's happened to most of us. And for some of us, like myself, it's happened more than once.

Take it as a learning experience.

I used to fool myself into think that analogs didn't have as much control over me as they actualy did. I had to fall off a few times to realize that even ONE analog is enough to send me back to that smoking madness.

Get a plan together of what you are going to do when a crisis hits. Load up on gum and candy and don't buy anymore analogs.

You can do it. So Do It.

the subconscious "non reason" i have not figured out yet, maybe i was just ticked off at the world in general and it took the unreasonable rage that i felt when my bank halted my debit card while i was bidding in a penny auction and made me lose at least $25 for no explainable reason that they could explain ( diverted agression ? )

how do i hate thee, let me count the ways:

pathetically few number of puffs per battery charge

the manual switch that i need to be able to drip without destroying the battery

the cartridges usually don't use all their ejuice, ie: the top part is dry while the bottom is still full of ejuice

prone to leak ejuice

again, constantly having to recharge and change batteries

the mess i make while reloading these under performing cartridges

no way to distinguish between cartridges , all black, no way to write on them, i have ordered some white carts

the way enthusiastic fanatics rave about this mediocre device

it grinds me that the "cigarettes per cart" is so fantastically exaggerated

that's it for now

Yep, they aren't perfect.

I expect that after a few decades of development they might catch up with the development of cigarettes, but those cigs have quite a head start.

There wouldn't be so darn many mod threads if they were perfect.

You'll have to figure out what you can live with and what you can't and go from there.

I am really surprised that you are having so much trouble with a joye product. They are supposed to be a better brand of E-cig. When I started I had a real crap e-cig, I do not even remember the model number off hand and my second e-cig was a DSE 901. Over the months that I have been vaping I have accumulated some 80+ e-cigs all kinds of mods and passthroughs and have gained a lot of knowledge by reading things in this forum and by personal experience. So now I really would like to help you have a more enjoyable experience.

1) How many puffs per charge do you get
2) Yes a manual switch is the way to go period, not just for dripping
3) Do the carts not use all their juice because when you are vaping they start to get harsh and make you think that the cart is dry when it is not?
4) From where does your e-cig leak?
5) Why is there a mess when you load your carts, how are you doing it?
6) If you want to distinguish a black cart use a paint pen that has gold or silver liquid, they can be found in the paint section.
7) Puffs per cart depends on the newness of the cart, after I have used a 510 cart maybe 4-5 time the amount of liquid that they can absorb decreases. I use a needle bottle which is a plastic bottle with a hypodermic tip and inject the liquid at the bottom of the cart so it fills from the bottom up.
8) yes the manufacturers do exaggerate how many puffs they get but other folks may not. You might have a bad atty, or since yours leaks a flooded atty.

Help me to help you.

hi again

not very many puffs but who can or does count puffs
i figure that after one use the filler is contaminated thus limiting it's wicking ability, i ordered more new empty carts so i do not have to use my own rebuilt cartridges
it leaks around the top of the atomizer ( i think )
i am just a clumsy old man and these plastic ejuice bottles tip over easily
strange but a 510 cartridge with new blue foam only took 10 drops where as a rebuilt Super cigarette took 12 drops

guess it was a bad day to try giving up cigarettes, but i am now back to my milder "cigarette reduction" program

As long as you keep up the reduction , it's all good. Like so many OP's say. Don't beat yourself up.
I started vaping last yr. I ordered at least 700.00 worth of "crap" and still smoked. I joined here and lurked , instead of joining in with my frustrations so that all the helpful people could get me through.. In Dec. I ordered a new different kit and haven't smoked in almost a month now. I am not saying I don't still want to smoke and I don't say I quit. What I do is when I do want one I vape, and if that doesn't satisfy me I will smoke. I just haven't happened to need to smoke in almost 30 days.
Back when I started vaping I quit smoking in 2 days , that lasted for about 3 weeks. Then the frustration started. I had to force myself to like the taste and second hand smell. I wish I had not done that now, because it took me even longer to stop the next time.
