So, what are the current hurtles with the parts. Last I read we had issues with the tubing (I think that might have been resolved) and the springs.

Possible replacement

I didnt realize that Dan's specs used 58lb/in springs. I didn't know they rated that high for such a small spring.

I wonder if we can use something like this and just slide the kanthanol in between the coils and loose the nails and washers altogether... Hmmm, maybe I will do a little modding of my own when my kit gets here.

If I'm remembering rightly, the tubing was available from McMaster-Carr and has already been added to the order shipping from them, and the springs are the current problem. The only thing close in size (found anywhere in current stock) are 26lb springs and the originals that were sourced are actually out of stock for 4 or 5 weeks.

It was only yesterday, but I work third shift. It's already three hours past my bed time so my thinker-thingy is not quite up to par. Gotta pick up the daughter from daycare in a couple hours, so I probably should get some sleep. I'll catch up this evening...

I think I have the springs resolved. Just waiting on a confirmation email back. It's the same spring, just 3 coils longer. Take a pair of wire cutters to it and voila. I will post a confirmation of this as soon as I hear back. This is the last part needed for the coop. As long as this happens, we are rockin and rollin.
