Halo Torque56 is absolutely the most like a cigarette I've ever vaped. It's like standing out in the break area smoking with 20 other people. My first vape with Torque56 brought back that picture in my mind.

Anyone who really misses that flavor should keep a bottle of it around for those times when the urge to smoke hits. My wife didn't like it because it's too much like a cigarette to those around you. She said it stunk like the break area at work (and I guess it did).

I absolutely prefer vaping to smoking. There are so many things about vaping to prefer. It takes time. I smoked 2-3 PAD for 41 years. The idea of quitting the smokes was like the idea of losing a loved one. But at some point that all went away. I can't say when that happened but it did. Maybe a couple months? Please give it a chance to happen for you.

For me it seemed more like the prospect of having my right arm, or one of my legs amputated. That's why 48 hrs without smoking and *without missing smoking* seemed absolutely miraculous to me.

The hardest part for me at first, the thing I actually missed sometimes, was the going outside every so often, the little smoke-breaks. So sometimes I would just go outside and vape -- especially if I was on the phone! It just didn't seem right to be on the phone and not go outside; I'd done that for 16 yrs, with the outdoor smoking! It didn't take long to get over it though -- once the weather got hot, I didn't wanna go out there anyway, so it was nice to just sit on my .... in the house. :D

Watching TV, too... everytime there was a commercial, it seemed odd to not leap to my feet to and sprint to the porch. Then I realized, commercials could become potty breaks, or maybe snack-breaks, instead of smoke-breaks. And being able to just sit there thru the commercials also gave me the opportunity to yell at the Nicorette/Chantix commercials. :D ("Just vape, you idiot, and you won't HAVE cravings!")

This Jan. 14th was my 2 year anniversary of quitting the smokes, after 42 years of 1 - 1 1/2 packs a day. Without vaping I never could have done it!

I quit by tapering off and substituting vaping for the ciggies I didn't smoke. Took from Nov. 2013 - Jan 14, 2014, but it worked for me. Have never even wanted a smoke since my last one 2 years ago.

Vaping was like the mirace method I needed! Wish I'd discovered it years ago.

So today is the day I want to stop smoking cigarettes FOREVER!

I found that I wasn't bothering with my e-cigarette while smoking the real thing. I'm very much an all or nothing kind of person. But I was just wondering, do you now prefer vaping to smoking actual cigarettes and how long did it take for you to prefer it? I've just had what I hope to be my last cigarette and I miss it already!

I need to get used to it and today, finally, after over a week, my other liquids have come so I can try those when I get home from work.
I was a super heavy cigarette smoker and now prefer e cigs - been at it for a year and 3 months. I am an all or nothing person too and I made up my mind that I was going to do it so I did not smoke regular cigs at all -- only e cigs. Started with VUSE and ego's and I wasn't totally crazy about it but kept at it - you do have to get used to it. (it takes about 3 weeks to establish any kind of habit). I got smarter along the way (mostly thanks to this forum) and upgraded my equipment twice. Surprisingly I did not miss it too much - perhaps because I used very high nic so it satisified me.

Now I am at a really good place with it - I do know that if I supplemented with regular cigs that I probably would not have done it. I think the key is to find a flavor that you really like and a strength that satisfies the cravings. From my perspective I was not looking to try all kinds of flavors - it was and is a replacement that I believe is healthier so I just needed to find one really great flavor that worked for me. And more than a year later I am vaping nic at 4% - which is pretty low and find that I am not as crazy to grab my vape as I was with regular cigs - it was a gradual process.

From one former heavy smoker to another - YOU CAN DO IT!

That's how we ended up with 6 cats at some point

Heh, that's what I told my son when I found him giving some scraps of ham to the scrawny tuxedo kitten that turned up on our carport: "Now it'll NEVER leave!" I was right; she's asleep on the sofa right now. :D I could probably have resisted an ACTUAL kitten; but my son turning those eyes on me that look like Puss in Boots... no way could I resist that. :D

The turning point at which I realized I could make the switch permanently was when I started vaping with one hand and smoking my after meal cigarette with the other. It suddenly hit me that the ecig tasted good and the cigarette tasted pretty nasty. Both were supplying me with nicotine, so why not choose the one that tasted good and trash the other?

That was the day when I finished the last pack and never bought another. To this day I can smell cigarette smoke from a distance and not want one.
