Fighting the Battle, which way is really best

I realize we all sign these petitions and are working on getting the E-cigs from not being banned, however why are we not playing by the same political sneaky rules as out Gov't officials and doing things like putting mass e-mails out to our state senators on a daily basis from all ECF members as well as mass E-mailing the FDA, cancer Assoc, all the news stations, radio and on and on about how the real cigs are legal and killing millions and the E-cig is less harmful if in fact it is, which I believe it is, and show some more studies showing E-cigs vs cigarettes. With as many members that we have here on the ECF how about a mass e-mail campaign where when every member signs on each day we have a template letter made up and hit the send button and off it goes to the White House, our state senators, FDA, Cancer foundations and so on, and use our people power to fight back on a daily basis instead of just these signatures’, Our tech savy ECF web designer and our moderators and other group members could all work on this together setting it up. I agree with the signing of the petitions however why not a stronger daily battle with these Gov't officials and the phony execs on some of these so called nonprofit organization getting paid big bucks yet not doing anything to help people quitting Analogs with a mass e-mail plan where every day they get thousands of letters by email to make our point and win this fight.!!! I could go on and on with more Associations’ and ideas for the letters, and a plan but let’s get some stats and figures together and show some strength in numbers on a daily basis with this fight all us vapers are up against. Isn’t it funny how things like this go to vote behind the doors and they vote against things like the E-cig and slowly the battle is lost legally as it seems to be happening one state at a time they are picking us apart, how many judges smoke, politicians, and on and on Especially with a president who smokes, why are we not going after him by putting an e-cig in his hand and telling and showing it to MR.S Obama as well, Don’t you think she would tell MR. President to use this to quit smoking? It just seems to me to fight big tobacco and the phony politicians the way we are isn’t going to work, where as a WE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE QUITE SMOKING AND vape USE A mass campaign with tons more exposure would work, especially on a daily basis and getting all ECF members and some other e-cig groups to all team up and use more power towards the fight, I don’t like the chances we have the way each state seems to be getting in there behind the door vote and banning this, we are losing this way and the politicians have the advantage because we are playing there game in there ring this way, let’s change up the playing field a bit and shake this battle up a bit people..!!! If you have taken the time to read this I would really love to here some vapors opinions and feedback on this, good bad or ugly and how they feel about what we could do in numbers and using our POWER.!!!

Seriously though, mass emails would do little good as most of the addresses we sent them to they would mark it all as spam.

Snail mailing from 7000 active ecf members on a daily basis may frustrate the hell out of them though...

OK out of all the ECF'ers here this is it for replys, im looking for some more thoughts people, some how some way there really has to be some more people who would like to help this vaping world out, this is exactly the propblem today, nobody wants to stand up fight these politicians and form a huge Battle over this and everyone keeps quite and does nothing until it's to late. I really though more of the ECF moderators and some higher up members and all members would get more involved and back this or at least want to come up with some more creative ideas here on this matter, im not quiting and letting them win this fight, if you all want to quit then thats up to you but im not taking this sitting on my ....

If you go through this subforum (campaigning) there are a lot of ideas, thoughts, and brainstorming. Mail and email campaigns, petitions, fliers, business cards, politician contact info, campaigns to comment on articles, celebrities to contact, suppliers who are trying to organize, letters to write to judges, a consumer advocate group who can take donations. And at least one sticky with a subset of many of these things listed.

You might have noticed that this isn't the easiest group to coordinate. Notifications at the top of the forum- stickied posts, constantly bumped posts. all work a little bit. And i think there may be at least a few who take action and don't post that they do.

But you're right, getting the majority of people to be active and involved is difficult at best. I don't have an answer for that one. Other than to have a lot of things going on and harness the strengths and interests of individual members. It comes down to each individual making a choice to be involved and put in the time. There are some incredibly committed people who do their best to make it easier for the rest of us. And there are lots of good ideas floating around.

Maybe the answer is to have large enough numbers of people. That way even if only a small percentage are involved it is still a lot.

We need a nationwide television commercial of a Vapers March on Washington. If more people knew the truth about e-cigs, the fight would not be so hard. Something like the can anybody tell me why smoking isn't stupid commercials. If enough people donated, a nationwide commercial maybe possible. I have seen e-cig commercials on tv... It was smoking everywhere... and look what happened. Leave the businesses out of the commercial and educate instead.

Something to remember - you can't count on the total number of ECF users to all be out there campaigning. Some of these people came here once to find out how to fix their Blu. Some will register so they can use a vendor's sub-forum and will never see a campaigning thread. Some might have registered just to check out e-cigs and then decided against them. You can only count on a small fraction of ECF's user base as active participants.

Vendors should be putting educational flyers in their packages. I'm sure there are many faithful users out there who have never heard of this forum, and may not even realize there are ban attempts in progress. It behooves vendors to protect their business by getting all their customers up to speed.

Whenever a new tobacco tax is being debated in my state, all the local smoke shops will post huge flyers at the counter, telling people who to contact in protest. They hand out pamphlets and post petitions for smokers to sign. Why aren't e-cig vendors doing the same thing?

I agree that a public service announcement or commercial would be great, but let's get all of our users up to speed too! Vendors could distribute a one-page "Call to Action" flyer in orders at minimal expense, it almost seems like a no-brainer!

I get the impression that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than what we see here by people we're familiar with at ECF that are very good at what they do and are doing it for free.

Most of us can just keep it simple:
Write the letters, sign and forward The Petition to everybody on you mailing list who might by sympathetic, call your senators and representatives offices and deliver a clear, concise message. Vape conspicuously but un-obnoxiously in public. Carry wrapped pre-filled carts and cartos for curious smokers to try. Pass out business cards or web address of your favorite suppliers. Become a member of CASAA and help support it!
