Figuring out days, # of ciggs and $ saved? How are you doing it?

Hello,
I'm way new, though I've been lurking around for quite a while. :p I noticed a lot of folks have calculated their days without cigarettes (which I could figure out I'm sure,) but then specifically how many ciggs you didn't smoke and how much you saved. I am NOT math-ish and I was a weird smoker. I smoked Nat Sherman Natural Mints, but only when driving or hanging out with friends.

I'm vaping Bloogs and am thrilled with my choice. It's been about three weeks now and I have no desire to go back.

So is there some kind of formula you use? Is this a ridiculous question? Guess I have to start somewhere.

I've been using a spreadsheet on Google Drive to track my expenditures and how much money I would've spent on ciggies (the lowest estimate).

Spreadsheet takes all the work out of it, as a formula can be used to calculate days between a specific & current date.

Code:
=(DAYS360 (K5,K2)*7)/2

K5 is the quit date
K2 is the current date (set by =TODAY)
7 = $7 / pack
2 to cut the cost in half, as the least I smoked was 10 cigs a day.

May be an easier way, but thats the one I've used with success.

Also have it set to show the difference between how much I've spent & how much I've saved. Has helped me stay in the black for the most part (went over for the first time yesterday by $15).

Hi! If you're asking about the tally at the bottom: After you have a certain number of posts (I think it's 15) you can have a "banner" in your signature - that's the box at the bottom that keeps count for you. Once you have enough posts, just click on a banner you like and it will direct you to a link to make a banner.

ETA: I thought you meant a banner. If you mean a spread-sheet, I tried that for a few weeks, but found I'd rather read the forum than Excel. ;)

One thing to add,
I feel like as time goes on smoking traditionals, you slowly increase usage. I went from approximately one cig a day when I first started smoking, up to a pack a week when I quit.

I feel like the flat forumulae doesn't account for that, so the actual savings may be higher, depending on how much cigarette consumption would have increased.

Sweet! I've been cigarette free for 20 days, 19 hours, 27 minutes & 52 seconds.
I have not smoked 104 cigarettes
and have saved $36.42

I googled "quit smoking calculator"

I think I'll wait a few months before I start subtracting my start up costs for vaping

That plateaus though, there are only so many hours vs so much time it takes to smoke.
