So I got 5 boges, and have more on the way.

Last night was my first time filling a carto. I just popped the little white rubber mouthpiece off and dripped the nic liquid into the carto.

I then would put the lil rubber covers on the threaded end, and move it up and down, so the suction would help the liquid saturate the material.

But I have a problem with constantly tinkering with stuff. So I over filled one. A bunch of the fluid got in the lil tube in the middle.

Unaware of my mistake, I popped on Trog's SD key ring batt an took a couple puffs...

Some liquid got down and into the batt. Its an auto battery, and I got the majority of the liquid out, BUT it now takes a bit more "sucking" to fire it up.

No BFD, I ordered another one because they are so cool, and the original still functions.

However, I assumed with my story, you super guru's could help me learn from my mistakes.

Hi Beelze. When I put drops of juice into my cartos, I always make sure to tilt (appx. 45 degrees) the carto so juice doesn't go down the center hole. When I think it's getting almost full, I'll check the hole to make sure I can still see through it. If you overfill and can't see through the hole, gently blow out the excess...then you should be good to go.

Sometime when you're bored, or just vaping, fill up a few cartos. I have a few dedicated cartos, tanks for quick filling, and an atty for dripping when I can't choose a flavor lol. Once you get the whole thing down it's not bad, either it gets better or you just have more laying around to work with. I started out with 5 Ego tanks, now I'm up to 8 tanks, 26 unused cartos (counting my 510 thread only), a few attys, handful of drip tips...lol

Most of my juices are 100% VG and very thick. It would take a long time to fill them waiting for gravity to do its job. So what I do instead, is put a few drops in the top (with the condom on the bottom of the carto), and drop the carto into an earplug case, which I have attached to a 1 1/2 foot piece of rope, close the top of the case, and sling it in a circular motion a few times which forces the liquid to the bottom of the carto. Rinse, repeat until full.

I know that doesn't help with the overfilling issue but it should prevent you from overfilling too much...

Here's my favorite method for filling new cartos the first time. As you notice a drop off in flavor, pop the cap and add a couple of drops. If the filler is white again when you check, it needs a few drops. Tilt (as was already said) and drop in a drop at a time. Wait a few seconds for it to soak in, and add another drop.

I would try using a syringe to fill your cartos. Personally I think it's hands down the quickest and easiest way to fill a carto. A syringe takes all the guesswork out of filling and ensures they are filled correctly.
This is a copy and paste I wrote for someone else on how to fill the Ressurectors, but its really for all cartos. Do the same thing for the Boges, they just hold less juice. The Ressurectors hold alittle over 2ml of juice and the Boges hold 1ml-1.2ml. Follow these directions exactly and you should have no problems. Just go slow and you won't overfill them. Watch the top of the filler and as soon as you see the juice rise to the top of the filler and it looks "slushy", it's full. It's very easy to do and it's much quicker than other methods bc you don't have to wait for the juice to settle. Just fill, blow lightly out the airhole so you make sure it's clear, wipe the threads well especially bc you use autos, and vape.
Here ya go:

How to fill a cartomizer with a syringe:

"All you have to do is take the dropper part of the bottle off your juice and fill your syringe with 2ml for a new carto. Take the rubber tip off the carto and carefully insert the needle down the side pushing against the metal. DO NOT go thru the filler because it will move it and you could potentially break a connection and your carto. Slide the needle down the side and go all the way to the bottom. Then slowly start dispensing some juice. Dont dispense it all bc then it won't be evenly distributed. Put alittle in, then take it out and insert the needle in a different spot. I normally do it in 3 spots (in a triangle) I found it distributes the best, but you could just do it in 2, on opposite sides. Make sure the needle is at the bOttom bc then you will not have to wait at all for it to settle. Disperse slowly and you will begin to see the toP of the filler become slushy. It is full then, don't put more. If its a new carto is will def hold 2ml, if your refilling it won't take a lot so pay attention and once it gets alittle slushy stop. While your filling hold a napkin or something under the carto bc if you do it too fast a few drops will come out the battery end. If that happens its only bc you did it too fast and the poly fill didn't absorb quick enough.( that happens to me bc I am impatient and fill it in about 10 sec, so I just hold a paper towel or napkin underneath.) wipe up the drops and put the rubber cap back on the carto. Then put the carto between your hands and rub back and forth spinning the carto quickly. This will insure the liquid is evenly distributed in case you put too much on one side from the syringe.
Now you have a perfectly filled ressurector that is ready to be used right away!"

This is how I fill, cleanup and settle cartos, then keep them damp
----
How I fill a cartomizer (Vapor4Life/Bloog/Volt for KR8 or Boge 510 for 510 which are all soft-cap w/ no inner seals and defined central air channel)

I use thin (20% or less VG) liquid or Vapor4Life WOW liquids, preferably clear liquids w/ no sediment

Filling a blank carto - I pop off the soft cap (unbent paperclip carefully in the mouth hole, not catching any wires or stuffing!). I hold some tissue against the threaded end hole (or you could use the carto condom spike to plug the hole). I tilt the carto and slowly drip 18 drops (per ml of carto capacity and these are 1ml cartos) onto the inner wall of the carto so it slides down into the stuffing while I rotate the carto. Then I wait 15 seconds or so then I drip however many more drops the stuffing wants to soak up.

Cleanup: Then I do clean-up. If it is leaking, I clean that up. Then I tilt the open end down into the tissue and puff a couple of times into the threaded end to clear any juice out of the central air channel (I want to see light through there). With the carto still tilted with open end down I gently touch a bit of tissue to the stuffing (otherwise that liquid will be gurgling or spitting in my mouth). (And instead, if I really want to avoid leaks I touch the soft bit of tissue to the stuffing while blowing out the air channel.)

Settle: Then since this was a fresh fill of a blank, I now let it settle. I lay the carto on different sides and the ends over 15-20 minutes. Then it should be ready to vape. If you use thicker juices than me, then you may need to let it settle longer.

As I am vaping - if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or tastes bit off or the carto is getting unusually warm, I will take the carto off the battery, open it, add 4-8 drops or whatever it seems to want (I will either hold a bit of tissue against the threaded end hole just in case, or skimp on how many drops I add to make sure I avoid drips if I have no tissue). I check to make sure the threaded end is dry, give it a couple of puffs into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear, and continue to vape.

Note - it is easy for me to "open" my main cartos for adding juice because I replace the white end cap with a plastic or delrin drip tip (I get them at LiteCigUSA.net). So I can easily pull that out with my fingers when I add juice and it keeps my lips cool if the carto is hot. I can also pull it to check if the top of the stuffing has gone white and could use more juice.

Here's how I fill a carto...take a round toothpick and gently insert it into the airhole just until it's snug but don't force it..you don't need too. Now start dripping into the carto. A standard Boge takes 25-30 drops in a new one. Put 25 drops in and stop. Let it sit for 20 minutes on the threaded end (I use an ammo holder to keep mine upright). After 20 minutes, look at it and if it still looks slightly slushy on top, it's full. If it looks dry, add a drop at a time until it remains slushy. Remove toothpick and put on mouthpiece/drip tip. Gently glow through it into a paper towel just to be on the safe side. Screw it on and vape away.
