does this make a difference? I bought cartos from a local guy (really cool guy, don't get me wrong), and I'd always filled my cartos from the battery end when I bought from V4L. well he told me to fill them from the top, so I did, and I'd been getting a burnt taste, and he said some people told him with those it takes a while for the atomizer to break in and you might get an unpleasant taste. well now I'm wondering, could I be getting this taste because filling from the battery end makes it so it absorbs in the atty better?

Sqirl sir filing from the battery end does a much better job of wicking than from the opposite end unless you include a Taryn spin afterwards... Having said that remember that the condom method should only be used on manual batts, the newer designed autos (whether it's the updated generation 1 from v4l, or the gen 2's made by bloog, halo, si, etc.) have a much more sensitive switch which a surprisingly small amount of juice can clog and kill...

When it comes to the Condom Method for filling Cartos all I can say is don't do it. This method spread like wild fire around Youtube and surprisingly enough even ends up on some suppliers websites. No matter who the KR808 Carto supplier is, all standard KR prefilled Cartos leave the factory with 1 ml of juice.

Refilling should not require the need of tissues, washing hands, washing out condoms, wiping out Carto threads and housings, cleaning off counter tops, blowing out air tubes, burning half-filled cartos, blackened battery threads, clogged air intake holes, killing auto batteries, or accepting that a few drops will have to be sacrificed on every fill.

Here is a classic video of the Condom Method most new Vapors stumble upon. This is just one of 100's, when viewing these vids note that if they don't cut-away after filling you'll see them wipe down the carto or need to blow out the Cartos.

well I don't like having a syringe.... makes me feel like a hroin addict or something. know of any other methods I could use or maybe something made specifically for injecting e-juice into cartos that looks nothing like a syringe?

I hear what you're saying about Syringes and I still use the simple method of Drip Filling.

Drip Refilling Method Vapor4Life Cartomizers (No Audio) - YouTube

If you find the polyfill is wrapped to tight to absorb the juice...just try a Taryn Spin. This video has easy to follow instructions on how to a make an effective and inexpensive lanyard. Of course you could get fancy and buy 1 ft. of pcv tubing 3/8 id along with some 3mm nylon cord from Home Depot or Lowes. Of course, that gonna cost a couple of bucks...hehehehe

Vapor4Life The Taryn Spin 2011....Everything You Need To Know - YouTube

Now, some folks clean out their cartos, then refill them. I you do this and after 10 drops e-juice starts leaking out the air/wick tube hole....you have a burnt carto with a compromised wick tube. Of course, you can always reverse spin out the juice and put it into another carto.

In any case I hope this helps.....
