Question on condom refill method with VG

Hello all,
I'm a relatively new vaper and I love my VK KR8. I went ahead and bought some juice from freedomsmokeUSA with my initial kit from V4L. THe juice i bought was a 20% PG/80% VG mix so it is a little thicker than straight PG (I think).

I recently did my first refill of cartos using the condom refill method along with a Taryn Spin. My wife gets a kick out of that, btw. So, my questions are...

1. Does the thickness of the juice affect how much I can fill the cartos/how long they will last?

2. Would a 50/50 mix be that much thinner/make that much difference?
I seem to go through these things pretty quickly...about 3 cartos a day.

3. I have a feeling that I am not getting enough TH with this mix, but love the amount of vapor that it produces. Will I be sacrificing that much vapor production with going to a 50/50 mix?

I have used the KR808. Nice Kit. Love the Cartos. The 80% juice mixture is going to make it quite a bit thicker. I think you do get more vapor with the VG. It can also make your Juice a little sweeter. It does make filling your Cartos. a pain in the tush.

I am not a fan of the Condom filling. For me it is too messy and you take the chance of flooding your atomizer (Wick) and ruining your Carto. and if it leaks the smallest amount into your battery, it will be a goner!

The thicker the juice is should not affect how much the Carto. will hold or anything to do with how long it will last. Are you sure your filling them enough? I think they KR808 holds about 6 to 8 drops of juice. You will have to play that by ear. You should not be having to fill them 3 times a day. You must be doing some serious vaping...lol Also, if your not getting that Nicotine that your use to getting your going to find yourself vaporing constantly.

The throat hit has everything to do with the amount of Nicotine your juice has. The higher the nic. the stronger the throat hit. The vapor can be great as you say but it definitely sounds like you need a higher Nicotine level in your juice. There are 0 nic. Cartos that have no nic. but still have vapor. Does that make any sense?

Thanks for the reply Sassy. I'm actually able to get 15 drops using the condom method and another 5 more or so with the spin. I just started a recently filled carto this evening and two or 3 hours later it started tasting "bad" or "burned". I do a lot of vaping, but not that much. In those 2 or 3 hours I took a couple of puffs here and there but nothing outrageous. I just filled it again and it took 15 drops, no problem. Not sure where you are getting the 6-8 drops, as every method I have seen so far state at least 15, no problem. I do take some long hits, well over 5 seconds usually closer to 8-10, so maybe that is it. I guess I expected a little more mileage out of a refill. Funny thing is, I didn't experience this short mileage with the pre-filled cartos I had or with the blanks that I filled the first time. Seems to happen on the second refill.

Wouldn't using the condom method flood the atomizer no matter how much juice you use considering that the juice has to go through the atomizer/wick portion to get to the filler? I find myself clearing that hole out with a needle and/or blowing through it.

As far as throat hit, I am using 24mg juice but I think the higher VG content is reducing the TH a bit. I completely agree that the thicker juice seems to be much messier and more difficult to refill with although I have nothing else to compare. As far as the sweetness, I never considered that it was from the VG. I thought it just the flavor of juice I was using. Wonder how different the straight PG of this flavor tastes.

I tend to ramble, sorry. One more question. What is everybody else vaping in terms of mix. 50/50? 80PG/20VG?
