**comment deleted by Sloth because it was a comment he feels may offend some of the family, though if you read it, that was NOT the intent whatsoever, Sloth is just a super liberal who is frustrated with the entire political system, especially seeing what may happen with something like vaping**

I'll replace that comment with this one:

I love NT, and hate bad politics.

I don't know if the other end of the stock would really help. They're all about money, and would probably ban the whole kaboodle because BT and BP would ask them too.

That being said... Unless they're going to regulate flavors in hookah tobacco, and cigars I don't see it happening.

I feel that we need to look into the history of how hookah smoking has skirted many regulations. According to the owner of my local hookah bar, they claim it as a cultural recreational activity. I feel like we should be able to be classified the same.

Lastly, the only real part of this they can stop is the nicotine. To my knowledge there is nothing saying you cannot vaporize flavored liquid. Cut out the nic, sell the flavorings, and add in your own nicotine.

Nope, they have that covered (though I can't wait to see the lawsuits flying) all e-liquid, including those WITHOUT nicotine are considered "tobacco products"

Hey Zero, will you do me a favor and delete that quote (not your comment, of course! just the quote from me)? I edited my post because I feel that comment may offend someone here. I got really upset and frustrated when I wrote that--then was like hey, off track a bit here, might offend someone even though we agree on the nature of this particular issue I got too political there broadly speaking to feel comfortable leaving it :)

I hadn't thought about the fact they allow hookah flavorings...LOL what are they thinking with this???

The thing that bothers me most: there are REAL issues for our politicians to be fighting for. People are dying. People are hurting. People are sick, and poor. Jobs need to be created. Innovations need to occur. They're wasting time and taxpayers money to fight for regulations on VAPING?

*disgruntled again, gonna go vape will return...*

How do they justify that? There's nothing left remotely connected to tobacco products if there's no nicotine. :(

    THIS JUST IN:

All Soda, Pop, Etc., will ship in plain sugar form... No more flavors... Too many health hazards and people may like it.

Everything else enjoyable that does not extend lifespan shall be banished in the near future...

(while I personally agree with your comparison to said substance, ECF very much discourages "drug talk" so I will leave it at that)

With that being said, they way they have been able to continue making/selling it is dishonest, and poses a much greater health risk to children then vaping does.

I've been saying for a long time, I want vaping to be marketed as something different. Stop calling it an ecig, and redefine it's purpose.

...along with all the flavors in hard alcohol. Cinnamon, honey, cake batter, lemon, lime, cherry, raspberry, apple, watermelon, etc.

If we could somehow create a nexus to alcohol in the legislative picture, we'd be guaranteed a victory. They obviously have their moneypaws deep into the FDA because the possibility of all those flavors luring underage people to drink isn't ever mentioned even in the slightest whisper when talking about regulation. And alcohol does just as much, if not more, public health damage as tobacco.

(and no, I'm not a teetotaler.....)

    LOL. :)

I don't know why CASAA hasn't latched onto the alcohol thing and brought it up as a talking point as far as "enticing children". Or maybe they have and I just haven't seen it. Hey, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right??? And to boot, you have to be 21 to legally buy alcohol, but only 18 to legally buy tobacco products!

Frankly I feel their crusade is worthless. If you take history into account, that approach doesn't work. The products have hit the market, the market is vast, we have multiple conventions every year! We are a sizable community. They could force them off the market, and we would find ways to continue to Vape. Like people used to find ways to drink, and addicts find ways back to their drugs.
I'd like to hope that instead of destroying something that was built, they would help us answer the questions of how we can make it safer.
    Metals quality for tanks.
    Battery safety.
    Safety of wicking materials.
These are the things I'd love scientists to test. Not... Ugh... do children like flavors.

Nothing about the way these things are done makes sense. IMHO - not a single bit of it. Let's not even talk about other stuff. Then I'd really be riled up.

Well, ultimately a lot of it does make sense, and it reeks of $$$

Yep. When put in context, it makes perfect sense. It's not *right*, but it makes sense. BIG industries who make BIG donations and have BIG influence stand to lose BIG money if people stop using their products, so they're calling in BIG favors to make sure the money keeps flowing their way. No surprise there.

They have already tested them in quantitatively significant studies. During the comment period I sent the FDA as many as I could find. No one hears about these supportive studies, even vapers, as they are buried under piles and piles of poo.
