See, you mentioned about the difference in vape quality using the same tanks on a different battery. Is that simply due to having access to variable watt/volts? I read opinions and sometimes people will say 'this mod hits harder on my tank than that mod does' etc - in my head they're both pumping out the same wattage/volts/coil resistance etc so how can the vape differ?
In relation, I too am so sick of QC, I don't even bother with my nautilus any more. The gurgly wee thing just sits and gathers dust. I've been using an iClear16D the last 2 weeks purely because despite me doing my research, getting x number of recommended tanks and VV/VW batteries etc, a friend I've just converted got an Innokin SLK that came with the 16D, and was getting way better taste out of it, and most importantly way way less hassle from it than I was despite mine costing over 3x more! She's not changed a coil yet in 2 weeks and loves it.
Her husband went back to UK for a week and got himself a nautilus mini, so after reading all the positivity surrounding it I've asked him to bring one over to me here in Germany when he's back on Tuesday, PRAYING I can find some vape heaven that will be a good grab n go tank to rotate with the Kayfun once I start rebuilding. Knowing my luck, it will suck too tho [emoji13][emoji13][emoji13]
I agree about moving at different paces, and definitely budget is important, but now I really value convenience AND performance, so I'm definitely happy to drop a lot more money to get both after thinking this 10 tank will be better than that 10 tank and essentially throwing money away in the learning process for no gains. I still say my mini Novas (my first tanks) are bulletproof and the best of all I own - yet I shop in B&Ms and replacement coils are impossible to find [emoji24]
I love vaping, but I really hate things that don't work as they should. Leaking, gurgling, flooding, burning, dry hits, bad coils etc. I'd never have dreamed of dropping 250 on vape gear 3 months ago, surely now I can find my sweet spot [emoji56]
Lol! Yeah, hopefully you find your sweet spot.
The SiD is a 15w device, so yeah, it has more power. But he's using a 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coil in it at 8.5w. Most stock coils do best at between like 7-8.5 watts. Any lower and it's not worth the vape. Any higher and you could pop the weld (I think most heads now join resistance wire with no resistance wire) or melt the niacrome (are manufactures not using kanthal??)
I think most egos put out 3.5w or so (I don't think he was using a vv ego), and at that he was around 7w. So yeah, more power means more vapor and less Heatup time.
Hit harder is usually a term I see with mechanical mods. All devices have voltage drop, basically the resistance of the battery tube to the atty can cause the vape to be a but more anemic. Copper is more conductive, so there for less resistant, so those concerned with voltage drop usually go that route. Same issue with springs in the button... Magnets give more surface area for the negative connection to be made so it's usually less voltage drop.
That's all based on my understanding. I could be way off base as I haven't done a ton of research on it because I don't really care!
Those nautilus mini heads (bvc) should fit your 22mm nautilus. Just saying, maybe call him up and just have him grab a pack of heads instead of the new tank... Save you some money for rebuilding!
