Recently joined the site and am thrilled at the wealth of information and activity. I smoked cig's and cigar's for many years, and literally tried everything to quit, the patch, nicotine inhaler, gum, lozenges, support group, you name it, nothing worked. Several years ago, I bought an e-cig and it was terrible, tasted awful and had virtually no vapor. Forgot about it for the most part.

About two months ago, I purchased a Blu. Not perfect, but it did the trick and I immediately quit, and haven't touched tobacco since. Shortly after getting the Blu, I went online and ordered some higher quality vaping stuff which worked great. Now I have quite a selection of different devices and am now contemplating which Mod to purchase. Absolutely incredible that I was able to immediately quit after so many years.

Vaping has literally been a lifesaver for me, and I also had several of my friends who have now quit using vaping devices. Thrilled to be here and hope to be an active member and asset to the forum community.

welcome DonMac ... congrats on quitting ... I took a similar route 3 months ago ... started with a Blu kit ... one week later, I dropped $100 on an eVic ... quit a 30 year smoking habit with no trouble.

My Blu kit became my backup ... yesterday I ordered an eRoll starter kit for my mobile vape.

wouldn't change anything if I had to do it again :2cool:

Welcome to ECF. Ex 45 year smoker here. Don't you just love not smoking anymore. And I find vaping to be more fun and pleasurable than those Marlboros. Explore the Forums. Look for Forums or sub forums on the devices and toppers you have. You will learn lots of tips and tricks on how to get the most out of them and what issues to watch out for and fixes for them.

How close are you to Phoenix. They have a very active vape community there with lots of shops and vape meets. Might be fun to check it out. Do a search on vape meets or groups in Phoenix. Enjoy!

First off, mega congrats on quitting! I've gotten a few smokers to try my e-cigs as well, and it's nice when you save your own life, then influence others to do the same. It doesn't take much when these things are so effective and fun. I just recently signed up to this site too, so I'll see ya around!

It still amazes me tht I could love/crave/need that Marlboro/KoolXL taste- I tried smoking after vaping exclusively for 3 weeks & almost hurled- how did I ever CRAVE that taste?

Haha i was wondering if I would feel that way if I tried an analog now after 2+ weeks free. It sounds real hypocritical but I realise i now find analog's smell abit offensive to me, lol

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on quitting!

I am really glad the Blu kit worked for you. When I was first getting started, I tried two different versions of their disposables and did not like either of them. I purchased a different cig-a-like kit shortly afterwards, and it still did not stop me from smoking. However, I too had a feeling that vaping was still the answer and finally found what worked for me.

You will find a lot of great people here. I've only been here a week or so, and I feel as though I have learned a lot.

:toast:

Congrats on quitting the real ones, i too just quit after over 40 years, but i gotta say i did try a couple of times with the ones that look like the real cigs like the Blu and they did nothing for me, till i tried one a friend had, it was an ego battery with a ce4 clearomizer, i was hooked got myself one and completely quit after two weeks and never looked back, of course i have upgraded since but i love these things

I still can't believe I actually quit tobacco. I was one of those individuals who was so addicted to smoking, eventually I would have been holding my oxygen mask with one hand and smoking with the other. The interesting thing is, I literally have no desire to smoke tobacco. The vaping completely satisfies my needs, and is a lot more fun.

Got another person to quit today. Yesterday at work, I let one of the female employees who's been a smoker for 20+ years take a couple of puffs off my PV after I changed the tip to a new clean one. She couldn't believe it and I had to let her use it the rest of the afternoon after lunch.
I previously had purchased a number of inexpensive blister packs with a 900 MAH battery, USB charging cable and CE-4 clearomizer to give away to others who wish to try them. I brought one into work today, and gave it to her this morning. I filled up the clearomizer, and gave her a small 10 ml bottle of 24 mg mild tobacco flavored e-liquid. She used it all day without ever touching tobacco. She couldn't believe she did it, and is convinced she'll never smoke again.
I have now become what I used to hate; the former smoker who tries to get everyone else to quit. Only difference, is that they still get to puff away, just water instead of 4000+ cancer causing chemical laden smoke. Most persons I have shown my PV to, are amazed. They all thought vaping was just water vapor that comes out of the e-cig and there was no satisfaction. I have become the Johnny Appleseed of vaping LOL.
