Hi All, Can-can here.
2 weeks in, having bought 2 cheapie kits. If they are the worst of the lot, then I know I'm ok, I love the whole concept. I'll use these up, and then I want to try the tank system, as that seems to be the way of the future. Keeping an eye on several sites for a good sale.
I bought some liquid from TW, Patti's wicked mint. Wicked indeed, more pepper than mint. Actually painful on the tongue. Please tell me how to dilute or add to it to change it from hot sauce to a normal mint taste. Can anyone recommend a mint/menthol liquid? So many out there.
How amazing to find this, just stopped smoking immediately after years (and years....) of smoking.
My neighbors smoke outside my window and I never thought anything about it-now it just stinks!
Glad to have this forum to talk to, none of my non-smoking friends could ever understand what this means to me!

An excellent mint/menthol is cold creek by nitelitevapor.com. Very well balanced and the only menthol juice I can stand to vape. Gene's prices are cheap, juices are excellent, and he has wonderful customer service. If his site is down, please be patient. He's a small vendor that has made it big time and he has a hard time keeping up with demand. His shipping is about a week so be patient. I highly recommend his juices.

As for the ego, excellent PV. I own a bunch of mods but I still go back to my ego's.

Welcome to ECF. Once you get 5 posts, wait for about an hour or so and then you can post anywhere in the forum.

Thanks for all your comments-nice!
Another question-dear Steeljan is wary of charging on the computer. I just have a little netbook. Any thoughts?

If your netbook has a standard USB 2.0 feed, 500mA, then you should be fine with charging a small ecig. But don't use it to power a passthrough. Happy vaping and congratulations!!

I second the nix on powering a passthrough via the netbook usb. I made the mistake of purchasing a passthrough that was marketed specifically to plug into your computer's usb port so that you could save on charging batteries if you were at your computer.

Now to me a computer is a computer is a computer, but apparently there is a difference between a computer and a laptop and now apparently a netbook... Oh well. Now I know. Anyhoo, if I plug my passthrough into my 2.0 usb port of my laptop, it will work fine ...just not at the voltage it was designed for... AND if I plug anything else into my usb ports at the same time, they all overload and shut down until a reboot. So no fan + passthrough. One or the other, but not both. <sigh>

I'm assuming that it's different for a big desktop computer (do people still use those? ) in that the usb port has a higher than 500mA limit? I guess what I'm trying to say is that if passthroughs are inherently designed to only work via a POWERED usb port, why don't they say so in the marketing...instead they say, just plug into your computer's usb port and vape away...:?: It would have been nice to know that I needed to purchase yet another something BEFORE I blew my laptops usb ports! Thank goodness they revived with a reboot, but just sayin...

Anyway, congrats OP! My story is pretty much the same, quit with generic/cheapie ecig, quickly moved up and now 5 wks later I'm still really enjoying vaping!

CAN-CAN -

- This will make the juice thicker but you can get some vegetable glycerin locally to weaken that juice (flavor and nic will be weakened). The Humco Glycerin at Walmart near the rubbing alcohol is all vegetable (Humco was asked) and the Wilton Glycerin at Michael's Crafts with the cake decorating supplies is all vegetable.

- Or to keep your nicotine the same - go to Vaporbomb and order your choice of PG/VG with your choice of nicotine and use that for thinning. Tanks work well with 30% or less VG though some thinner 0/50 juices may wick OK.

Looks like they have this current sale code for Eliquids (may not work for flavorless): 15off
Unflavored E Liquid

Thanks StarEcho-Isn't it exciting? How does one resist grabbing a smoker and preaching the Vape Gospel to them?! Seriously! I sort of wave my pv around like you sport a diamond ring, hoping they'll notice. Sometimes they do, but sadly their interest always has some doubt in it. Suspicion....
E-cigs really need to get into better marketing. The ads I've seen are a little cheesy.

FWIW, the USB standard is 500ma per port. They will shut down if you exceed this, although some report smoke instead of shutdown! if you use a passthrough, make sure it's one with a battery box. Those charge the battery while you are using it to vape from. You can also detach the passthrough and use it offline to power your Ecig while you are waiting for batteries to charge.

The Ego and larger batteries pretty much preclude the use of a passthrough for most of us. A 1000mah Ego batt can take you through most, if not all of a day on one charge.
