So finally got a REO.....after a year of debating i got one. Have to play with it a while to see what the hype is though.....flavor is wicked better but vapor production is the same as my vamo but think it has something to do with my batteries. Im using Pani NCR18650B so need to get a better battery.

But all in all nice solid mod and can't wait to see how it does on some of my thicker juices like coffee.

Ninja edit: there's a million different reasons why vapor production could be lackluster. My ideal is 11 wraps of 26ga nichrome around a 1/16 drill bit, for ~0.8ohms, placed directly in front of the airhole (this is key w/ the rm2) and probably 1mm or less away from it. More than enough vapor and flavor is off the proverbial chain.

Keep playing with it and reading 'round here and you'll get that perfect vape. I promise.

Beautiful color combo....and wicked coil! Wow. I actually use a LOT less cotton on mine and I get tons of vapor and flavor. Actually, I don't use less cotton....I just trim my tails way, way back: my tails end at the posts. You might experiment with less cotton and see how it works for you. It's all so subjective, but it can't hurt to play around with it.

yeah i wanted some extra cotton to make sure i don't let the cotton go dry......first time on a bottom feeder......not sure how many pulls i can take before i gotta squonk so pulling my drip tip off to see.....LOL

i used 30g at 10 wraps and it was reading 2.1 ohms.....gonna go lower but whats the lowest i can go on the VV Grand? Im pretty sure i cannot go sub ohm correct?

I was about to have a heart attack, I was like that battery only has a 5amp limit, then I saw VVG and 2.1ohms and was like ok phew...


Any way I find less cotton is more vape. You don't really need long tails since it's a bottom feeder and more cotton in the coil = less juice, there's a happy medium where the juice swells the cotton enough to fill the coil w/o constricting juice flow. I always think i'm not using enough cotton right up until that first squonk, so you might have to fight your instinct for a bit.

Not sure about lowest ohms on a vv. I'm sure someone will be along shortly.

But on the blind squonk, don't worry about it. I've had mine for a month and a still take the drip tip off half of the time. I'm terrified of cotton dry hits. Yuck. Still easier than dripping!

No need to go sub on a VV. I would shoot for around 2 ohms then adjust the power to suit.

I take about a 3 second drag. I usually squonk every 2 or 3 hits just outta habit (like ashing a cig) and have never even come close to burning a wick.

I think that extra cotton may be hindering vapor production. Shoot for something like this

That is correct...I'd say you'd be okay around 1.2Ω dialed low. If it exceeds 15 watts, the chip will just stop working. You will just need to dial it down and you should be good to go. To find my ideal vape when fitting a new coil, I simply dial it all the way down and turn it up until I get to a vape i like, then I leave it there.

right now I'm turned all the way up......any lower and the vape goes away slowly

I've done around 1.5 ohms (easily) on my VV Grands, but no need to even go that low. The higher ohms coils (2.4 - 2.8 or so) will be great if you just turn the dial up....and they'll give you a little more battery life between charges.

You need two 18350 batteries. You may think it is turned all the way up, but the VV Grand does not boost power. You have to stack two 18350s to get the full VV function. AW IMRs are all I use.

Well the recommended batteries for the mechanical reo's are the AW IMR's. I use the pannasonic NCR18650PD(green) and NCR18650CH(grey) and AW IMR 1600's. The pannies both have a constant discharge limit of 10amps and the aw's are 15amps for the 1600mah version.

On a regulated device the NCR18650pd's should work great because they have 2900mah. On a mech like the reo grand, the aw's would be best, but if you don't go super sub-ohm, like .4 or lower, the pannies would work fine as well. I rarely go below .8 on my coils, so I take full advantage of the higher mah "PD" pannies. Plus they have a lower min voltage limit, so you have more leeway with that.

Yeah right now I'm stacking two 350s. My pani 650 does not work right and won't fire it good enough. I rarely use 350 since I've only used a vamo and provari. Might have to take a trip to the vape store and pick up some extras.

It is built for two 18350s IMR batteries not one 18650. AW IMr 18350s are recommended. Enjoy your Reo and RM2.

guess i need to go pick up some good 350's.....i just happen to have 2 from a mod i bought last year thank god......i got a cold right now and can't smell nothing but i can already tell that the flavor is outta this world...........if i didn't have to get up early i would start building more coils and play around with them but i think this will get me through tomorrow.......

now i see why everyone gets more and more of these.....i want 2 more so i can set up with different flavors.....LOL

nevermind.....i find that if i don't use enough cotton ill have to squank after every pull.....i take long deep drags though.....

You could try silica. I unravel my 3mm silica and pull two threads through the micro with kanthal.
