I'm not sure if most employers would take kindly to clouds of vapor (or anything that resembles smoke) floating over their workspaces, benign or not, particularly in a public facing business. Best to clear it through them first, but chances are that they'll ask you to take it outside.

Well, duh. He was trying to sneak a quick vape.

Perhaps the OP should consider exercising a higher level of Self Control and just vape outside during his breaks. Less drama that way.

I'm not saying this to anyone in particular.

Perhaps the Addiction to e-Cigarettes is Greater than the Addiction to Analogs. Because I find it disturbing if someone can't go 4hours without having to "Stealth Vape" or Sneak a hit in a Closet.

just wanted to add, I am also a little paranoid about vaping at work, I also work at a hospital with a strict no smoking policy.. I have vaped outside during my break and always in places away from the public... but for the most part I vape in the restroom lol I feel safer in there, and I would also recommend not letting your co workers know that u smoke period, because then they will be paranoid and say you smell like smoke even if you don't, i know because it happened to me... good luck

If smoking is banned anywhere, why do we feel we should be excluded from that policy .. ?? It looks like smoking .. we live in a World of cameras and busy bodies .. excercise a little self restraint .. otherwise, when the e-cig gets more and more common, the ban will simply be ammended to include anything that looks like smoking .. and on most cameras, it's going to look like you are smoking something ..

And let's hope the security folks that view the footage don't think it's an illegal substance ..

That's harsh, unnecessary, and the complete antithesis to this forum in general. We are supposed to be a supportive community, and you're being a douche. It doesn't really matter whether or not you have sympathy; you can still be helpful without feeling bad for someone. Or, if you can't, leave them alone. Swedishfish is right... that's Mom's job.

Must be tough walking with that large stick... Lighten up Francis. I'm sure the guy knows this by now. He was just sweating it and vented because he thought he might have lost his job.

So how does telling him that people Stealth Vape in a Hospital all the time help him?

First of all, I never told anyone to stealth vape in a hospital. I said I did, and I didn't ask for anyone's opinion on whether I should or not. I was waiting for my Mom's 6 hour surgery and hell yea, I stealth vaped. If I had an actual cig, I might have smoked that. I do it, I have my big girl panties on and I own it.

This guy is sweating worrying about his job. No one here ever snuck a cigarette or a vape? Please. It's pointless to lecture someone after that fact when I'm sure he's been praying or whatever the whole weekend to 'pleasedon'tfiremeandI'llneverdoitagain".
