Any suggestions on a 1 or 2 flavor recipe for these flavors:

1. Bull City- Vanilla Custard V2 and French Vanilla V2
2. MFS- 4 Star General (I think I paid $24.95 for 15mls of the stuff- g.u.l.p)

Can I make a blanket statement that I prefer 20% flavor in all my mixes or is that dumb? I assume it depends on the flavor and the mix...For my first batches should I go with 10% and tick up or down from there?

Finally, is VT's PG/VG product better than MFS's?

I bought both nic and pg/vg from MFS and VT- Just curious.

Thank you-

Step 1: When I start a new recipe with a single flavor I make four 5ml versions to start with a total flavor profile of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%.

Step 2: From there if it's a multiple flavor recipe I pick the best tasting from step 1 and adjust the flavors according to taste to make that final batch.

I don't know what 4 Star General is but custard is good anywhere from 6% to 10% depending on your taste and it's amazing with fruits. I'm vaping an 8% Blueberry Wild and 6% Capella Vanilla Custard DIY mix right now, it's very good.

I can't help on the product comparison question because I buy eCigExpress unflavored nic but hope the other stuff helps.

EDIT:

Here is the recipe for the custard juice I'm vaping right now. You could substitute blueberry for anything you want of course.

(12mg) 50PG/50VG Nicotine E-Liquid Base 12.9 ml 258 drops 86%

(0mg) Blueberry Wild 1.2 ml 24 drops 8%
(0mg) Vanilla Custard 0.9 ml 18 drops 6%

Totals 15 ml 300 drops 100 %
10.32 mg Nicotine per ml - 57%PG - 43%VG

I buy from MFS and have been happy with everything expect some of their flavors. Cinnamon roll and butter were really disappointing. 10% is always a good benchmark but for some flavors, it can be a little strong. Start at 5% and drip up from there. Remember, if there is too little you can always add more, but if there is too much, you can't take it back out. Kind of like a haircut.

Btdubs, what does VT stand for? I would like to check them out.

Um, I'd start low and add until I got "close".

Also, feel good about screwing up. It's the best teacher. At least it was for me...

To the last poster VT is Vapers Tek. Most flavorless and clear nic for the money on the market right now. A bit low on TH, but good enough that I just ordered 4 liters to restock my depleted freezer. (Depleted of great nic, the so-so nic levels are fine.)

Supplied 50PG/50VG 10.32 mg Nicotine per ml to Recipe

(0mg) Vanilla Custard 0.9 ml 18 drops 6%

Totals 15 ml 300 drops 100 %
10.32 mg Nicotine per ml - 57%PG - 43%VG

Thanks for this. Seems easy enough and sounds great. Just to understand, are you saying 86% of the recipe is nicotine?

Yeah, they bought some low mg nicotine fluid so their mixes will be primarily the nicotine fluid. If you have any nicotine fluid more potent than this, just follow the flavor protocols and use the e-liquid recipe calculator for your base fluid.

They used 12mg nicotine fluid at 50PG/50VG and the rest of the ingredients diluted their mix to 10.32mg/mL nicotine.

No problem. It's saying 86% of the recipe is the base 12mg 50PG/50VG mix. So you premix a 50/50 12mg base and after adding 14% of flavoring it ends up 10.32 mg 57%PG 43%VG.

Thank you-

You can actually mix Vanilla Custard and French Vanilla together at 5% each to start.
Needs about a week to meld together properly, but do taste it right away.

Cap NY Cheesecake is another great flavor, and Bull City has Inawera flavors too.

+1 on VT nic.
