First battery charge

Hi everyone, I'm Pete (9ete)

New to all this vaping lark, got an EVOD 2 for Christmas (from my kids) and have decided I want to give it a go.

My first problem, I have just plugged the charger & battery into a wall socket, the instructions say about 2 hours to charge or until red light goes green but the light changed to green after 20 minutes.
Do I have to do the ignore green light for 8 hours, use for 20 minutes then charge for a further hour thing or is it just very quick charging from 240v or is the battery no good?

They usually come with a charge when they are new. When I plugged my Kanger EMOW in for the first time, the light turned green very quickly and it was good to go.

When the light turns green the battery is ready to go. Lithium ion batteries are charged to around 40% to 60% from the factory and the reason for that is that batteries last longer in storage when charged partially instead of fully. Yours should be ready to use. Once you run it down and recharge it will take the normal 2 hours to charge fully.

You might see a red glow with a periodic little green flash from time to time on some chargers while it's charging. It's a quick flash and you have to stare at the LED for 30 seconds or so to catch it (or just happen to be looking when it happens. When that green flash occurs, the logic has flipped over to read mode to check the current voltage level of the battery, then it goes back to solid red. That's normal operation.

I believe what you're thinking about here is battery conditioning, which you won't need to worry about. As others have said, your battery is good to go. DaveP covered the rest of you question very well.

Most of my many egos asked for that procedure. Only did on the first ones, lol. Most lasted long, some 2yrs. Better quality buys are a good investment for a few xtra bucks. My Joyetechs were by far the best.
