Just got a Tobeco Tugboat clone and decided to finally get to the next step, building my own coils. This is my first attempt. 26ga wrapped 6 times around a qtip.

Do you see anything I should change? The build metered at .46 and the coils fire evenly, surprised the hell out of me that I made that.

Looks perfect to me! 26g is pretty easy to work with. I have 26, 28 and I still have some 30 from when I first started building that I never use. It depends on the coil I'm making and the ohms i'm going for if I choose the 26 or 28g. The lowest I've ever gone is the build I have now which is .3 What a big difference than my usual builds! I always go .8 - .9 not sure why but I do.

Be safe -- I only use Sony Vtc4's or vtc5's I don't even bother using any other batteries. Better to be safe than sorry. What a couple $'s when it comes to safety?

Thanks guys for the kind words, it was definitely a proud moment watching them heat up, one was being stubborn but I squeezed it into submission and now it's nice and even but it was a lot less daunting than it looks.

And I ONLY use VTC4s, 5s are just too expensive right now. I don't like how shady almost all the other batteries are. A buddy of mine went out and bought a pair of Efest "35a" batteries for his mods before we knew that was a load of crap and I'd rather use the tried and true VTC4.

I kinda wish I wrapped it one less time for like a .3ish build. The flavors a bit muted on the Tug compared to my store built Tobh at .37. Could it be that extra 10 or so watts making the difference or would it be the airflow since the Tug only has two holes? It does make nice clouds however and it has a nice deep well that doesn't leak nearly as easily as the Tobh.

Tugs just don't do it for me flavor wise if that's what you're looking for. But neither do builds that low. For flavor you want a higher resistance. Oh, and a Magma :p

Now you're gonna make me go out and get another atty! Damn you!

My girlfriends sisters boyfriend has a Magma and his is built to like .4 and it just isn't enjoyable. It burns my mouth off and you can't even take a good long drag. He must not have gotten the memo for a higher buid on teh Magma. Lol.

This hobby is turning more and more expensive. But at least I'm no longer smoking. :D
