First day with no analogs

I started vaping 2 weeks ago today. As soon as I got my carto loaded with a nice juicy peach flavor I never touched another stinkie. Maybe I'm lucky but I have not had any real cravings for one either and was a 24 yr smoker. I am so glad to be done with them forever. Congrats to the OP and everyone else here that has made the switch. :toast:

Good luck.

My first day will be Monday so we'll get thru this journey together! I only had two analogs yesterday. But I'm going to sit around a camp fire this weekend and told myself it was OK. Also weighed in for the biggest loser at work. So I'm giving up carbs and analogs at the same time. If i'm alive and not in jail in 90 days, I should be much happier about my health!!! :rickroll:

Good luck to you as well. It sounds like you're taking on a lot as well, and doesn't it feel good to take charge of our health! I totally get the campfire thing, there are certain things we do that we just associate with smoking. For me it's that first cup of coffee in the morning sitting outside watching the sun rise. Vaping has helped me overcome that one.

I think he wishes I still smoked WITH him....

Interesting comment LadyVaper. I think that's part of what I'm missing is the 2 of us going outside to have a smoke together, so I've tried to vape with her while she's smoking. It's a little hard at first but if I chain vape it seems to work!

Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and comments. I like the comments re we started gaping, NOT quitting smoking. It sure takes the pressure off! I had 2 cigarettes yesterday without even trying and today, after declaring it to be a smoke free day, I'm finding it quite challenging. I think I need to detach myself from vaping being equal to quitting and just vape!

I find it best to not have any cigarettes around my house to avoid temptation. I find the hardest time is when I'm drinking and everyone else is smoking around me. Pays not to think about it and just hit the vape hard and the cravings go pretty quick.

I had the same problem. For me the solution was to not vape tobacco flavors unless I am drinking. So instead of cigarettes while drinking, you just want tobacco flavor.

Awesome! What helped me the most is knowing that I actually ENJOY vaping. I hated smoking, the smell, what it was doing to my body.... but still kept smoking for a LONG time! Way to long. The best way I can describe changing over is wanting to vape while not wanting to smoke. Its so much easier when you actually enjoy Vaping! Congrats! You can do it! Soon enough you wont even think of smoking as an option. From newbie to newbie.... way to make an AWESOME choice!

Thanks for the enthusiastic response! You sound like someone who feels great about the healthy choice to Vape. I'm actually finding the same thing, I enjoy the vaping and also being a bit of a gear nut, I like the choices in gear and the opportunity to play around with different setups. Congrats to you as well!

This was key for me.

I didn't try to quit smoking at all. I was breaking in a kit I bought for a friend. So at first, it wasn't about denying myself a cigarette; I was just postponing the cigarette until I'd broken in her atomizer for a puff or two... and then I'd get distracted, and not think about smoking for another hour; then when it occurred to me again, I'd make the same choice, over and over. After that, when I was dealing with my own kit, it was the flavors: I'd think, "I want a cigarette." Then I'd think, "Wait... do I really want to go outside in that awful weather for a cigarette, or do I want to try that new coconut-flavored vape instead?" The cigarette lost out, every time. Then it was a chance to try that new manual battery, or that new low-resistance atomizer, or the liquid I mixed up myself.

I don't think I'd have been able to quit by telling myself not to have cigarettes. But I know it worked for me to make sure I had a ton of alternatives to the cigarette I would totally let myself have if it was what I really wanted even with all the other options at hand. (The cigarette never managed to be what I really wanted. I quit smoking two months shy of three years ago, the week my friend's kit arrived in the mail.)

Dessert flavors. OMG dessert flavors. Nothing's going to trick your body into thinking you have carbs to burn that you just don't have, but you can at least trick your tongue. And whatever your favorite dessert is, somebody out there has made it into an e-liquid. It's like the Rule 34 of vaping.
