I've only been vaping for a little over 3 weeks but I've never been one to do something halfway so I knew I'd need to be making my own juices. I ordered the nic and some flavorings from MyFreedomSmokes but it took me a little longer to get my lazy self down to Walmart to get some VG and a baby-med syringe. As an aside - just going to Walmart near Christmas time will make your juice consumption double.

For my first juice I did a Watermelon Ice. It's 20mg strength - about 70-30 VG/PG. I used Lorann's watermelon flavor (~20%) plus about 10 drops of Koolada (in a 10mls batch). I didn't let it steep because I was eager to try it out.

I am amazed at how good it is. It tastes awesome - like a refridgerated watermelon Jolly Rancher. It produces a nice amount of vapor, too.

For those that want to try it (it's a pretty basic recipe) - here it is:

makes 10ml

3.3ml 60mg nicotine (mine is 100% PG)
4.7ml VG
2.0ml Lorrans watermelon flavoring
10 drops of Koolada

I didn't really make this post to brag on my recipe which I realize is super basic. I made this post for anybody on the fence about making thier own juice. It seemed sort of daunting at first but it's actually really easy and the results are fantastic. I like this juice better than any of the juice I have purchased - except for Boba's Bounty. Not to mention - it was waaaay cheaper!

I am sold on DIY juice - I can't wait to make some new flavors and try some of the recipes posted here!

Wow! 2.0 ml of Loran Watermelon in 8mls of PG/VG.......really? Well, I suppose if the recipe calls for 20% flavoring. Why does that seem a bit much?

Because hes using 30/70 PG/VG

Is it a lot? It actually doesn't taste overly strong. I actually wasn't sure how much flavor to use but the default on the recipe calculator I was using was 20% so I went with that.

Congratulations on getting a hit on the first try! I can't say my first was worth a second vape even if I did try it more than once to make sure it was as bad as I thought.

And 20% for Lorann's isn't high at all. Go for what tastes right to you. (If nobody ever listens to one thing I type, I hope they make an exception for that last sentence.)

You might find it overflavored a bit, you might not - it depends on your taste buds :)

I have a batch of Lorann watermelon I mixed at 10% and added 2% cotton candy - I don't use PG at all so there's 8% distilled water in there as well. I think it's a surprisingly nice vape but as I said your taste buds might be different ;)

20% might be a little strong for some flavorings - you can undo an overflavored joose by adding unflavored in your favorite nic level and PG/VG ratio but in my own mixes it's a step I'd rather not take if I don't have to so I usually start lower and add flavoring if I need to. Might be worth considering.

Of course it's also possible you knocked it out of the park on the first try :)

Well - I wouldn't go as far as to say I knocked it out of the park . . but I'm pretty happy with it. I've vaped about half of it already. I made a 16 hour drive yesterday to see some family for the holidays and happily vaped it the whole way. There are several juices i bought that I never even finished a clearo of.

It could use a little something more - I love the idea of adding some cotton candy flavor! I also like the idea of adding some water . . it's a little thick . .hard to fill. I will experiment with the amount of flavoring. At it's current 20%, it actually tastes kind of subtle to me - yet there is a sort of chemical taste in the background. Maybe I need to take the percentage down but add some sweetener or another flavor.

Thanks for all the comments. I love how friendly, helpfull and informative this board is!

After several days of steeping the taste got really good. I'm going to make another batch today - this time I'll make more. At first the watermelon flavor was pretty subtle, sort of candy-tasting and not really accurate. After about 4-5 days, though, the cooling sensation of the Koolada waned a bit and the watermelon flavor got a lot better. It ended up being a very clean tasting juice with a strong throat hit with a really nice watermelon flavor on the exhale - more like true watermelon vs watermelon jolly ranchers.

Maybe I did knock it out of the park, lol . .although with such a simple recipe - it's pretty much all about Lorann watermelon flavor.

I have since made a batch of Mint Chocolate Chip that is disgusting :(

Our failures keep us humble :)

If you're still playing with Lorann flavors my all-day vape is 10% English Toffee with 2% Cotton Candy. Easy mix, can be vaped immediately after being shaken really well and a hot water steep and gets as good as it's going to get after about 24 hours.

I don't use any PG other than what's in flavoring so this might be a little strong for a mostly PG mix; I had the flavoring laying around for months before I got up the nerve to try it but it immediately became my all-day vape and has been for about the last four months.
