I just ordered a black penstyle from puresmoker.com, and the regular carts tasted horrid, so I waited a couple of days for the nonpg JC sample pack. The package came. It was the new formula. I tried the arctic mint and the tenn. cured flavors. I would say the JC juice is better than the regular carts that come with the e-cigarette, but honestly, I can barely taste the flavor. And the vapor is still harsh. I have an Aromed for vaporizing various herbs, so I am familiar with the mild harshness vapor usually brings to the throat. But I am not so sure about this e-smoking deal. I want to give it a fair chance, but it just doesn't have much taste at all and it seems too harsh for what it's worth. I could deal with the harshness even if there was just more flavor. This vapor seems flavorless and empty, at least until some random fibers start burning in the atomizer bringing that occasional passing metal burning taste.

Yes, RYO and MYO, primarily Daughter's & Ryan tobacco from N.C. I obstained for about a week prior to trying the e-cig, however, so my palate would be neutral for the first experience.

I've been doing my best to separate the concepts of traditional smoking from e-smoking since they are inherently so different. I just expected there to be a little stronger flavor from the vapor than I discovered.

Perhaps another e-cigarette model or e-liquid would offer more flavor.

The vapor was a bit harsh at first for me too, and I've been smoking cigarettes for nine years. I'm only a week into vaping, but it's already gotten better.

Every once in a while I'll take a big drag and it'll still make me cough a bit from being harsh. Overall though, it's not bad after a few days.

As for flavor.. I dunno what to tell ya there.. I just got some liquid from Litecig today and it's not too bad. It's not "boom slap you upside the head" powerful flavor, but it's decent.

Hang in there, I think it'll be worth it.

If you read up a bit more on JC juice you'll find that it is commonly described as lacking in flavor. Look around the forums a bit and I'm sure you'll find something that could help you out. I'm personally quite fond of PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories! 's "cigar" flavor... although it's the only one other than "regular" that I've tried.

I would order some juice from either puresmoker, Janty, or Kiss juice from Jane.....They all have heavier taste than the new Johnson Creek juice, they are a bit thicker too. You also need to watch the video's on correct xmoking techniques, then, I believe you will LOVE it.:p

Hmm, I looked for the cigar flavor on PureSmoker.com, but it doesn't seem to be listed.

He must be out of that flavor at the moment. The "cigar" flavor is a good base tobacco flavor. Like I said before it tastes almost like a cigarillo or similar. I would imagine it would taste even better with some other flavors added to it i.e vanilla, clove, cinnamon, etc.
