I just ordered my first KR808D-1 from NHaler.com and am looking forward to receiving my kit! I'm hoping I like it as much as so many people on here do!

I am very much looking forward to not dripping so much, like on the 510 and the 901 that I also have. Is it true you can vape with it for 2 days and not have to fill or recharge it?

I am also looking for the best place to buy cartomizers (best flavor and price). Anyone have a favorite place to buy these from?

Hi Wendy,

I would say no it's not true, you'll need to change batteries and do something with the cartridges at least once a day, that is if you use it on a fairly regular basis..

By the bye, why are you looking to change? 510 and 901s seem to be very popular.

anyway be prepared for your kr808d-1 to be a very good product, but not a super human product.

I'm sure you'll like very much.
Best Regards

You'll find it's simplicity itself.

Just unscrew a half empty cartomizer, put on your glasses and in good light produce a drop of juice on your bottle's tip and make contact with that small hole in the metal end...

The cart will suck the drop off the bottle...

repeat... as needed.

PS I've found putting that plug in the hitting end, or the plastic cap to be counter productive.

Google Vapornine.com for a video, it's on the front page as I recall..

it's simplicity itself...

just as an FYI for the people in this thread , from my experiences using liquid cut with VG will clog the hell out of your cartomizer. VG liquids wont , but regular juice with VG added will. Also it will shorten the life span of the cartomizer itself. i have a carolina tobacco cartomizer that is going on 3 weeks of re-filling , through the top though , not the battery end... i was getting a weird flavor when i was doing that.

Fonosmoak,

I like the 510 and the 901, but I wanted something simpler to use also....a break from the dripping, using paperclips, tweezers and syringes, constantly changing/charging batteries and having to take extras along with me.....

Also, I am finding this to be a hobby with me, as well as an addiction-replacement, and I want something new! :D

Right-on Wendy,

I totally get that, I think my 45 year tobacco habit was also just a hobby, a dearer than life itself hobby--Glad I stumbled on vaping as it certainly is an adequate replacement.

Saw the FDA ban story, and Thought Dang those things must work and I was right...

Mr. Green, er Nick,

Sort of like talking to Elvis, I mean it "was" your reviews that sold me on the kr808d-1.

nice job..

So anyway, Yesterday I made some experimental juice that was really bad, and so I had to washed that cart and it came clean, really super clean.

So far so good, none of my carts have failed.

I burnt one though, and completely destroyed it trying to replace the filler.

So if there's a down side to cartomizers it's got to be the inability to rebuild them.

How sure are you about this clogging?

I ask because when I first cut my PG juice with VG it looked not to mix well, left bubbles, but now 24hrs. later it is crystal clear and impeccably smooth..

I'd venture the carts being fully washable would make the clog issue moot.

It's sort of like talking to Elvis...respect!

Rock on man, next time you're in Vegas drop me a line
Thanks again

Ok, I was wondering what the discount at Mist-Stix.com would be, so I put a pack of DIY cartomizers in a cart, and put in the discount code. They came to $6.50 for 5 cartomizers. Has anyone dealt with this company? Wondering what the shipping would be, since I can't find it on the site.

Thanks Wendy,

Is that a good price?

I wonder if they'd give a price break for say 25?

I should ask I guess.

On the upper right of the home page it says,

"All orders $99 dollars or less $5.95 flat rate shipping"

They have $15-- 30ml / 24mg. juice in either VG or PG

Hm? wonder where they are? USA seems like?

Thanks
fo

So, on further review, I see they are in Florida.

what's the code by the way
thanks

Oh, Duhhh! Now I see the shipping - guess it was hard to see since it was just about right in front of my nose :p Thanks for pointing that out!
I think it is a good price for the cartomizers (?), as I've been looking around different sites, and most sell for like $2 apiece. Even one very popular Chinese site, supposedly a discount seller, sells them at 5 carts for $10.
So I have been looking around, trying to get the best deal :D I haven't made a purchase for any cartomizers as of yet, just doing my research first!

Trying to find the right cartomizers based on the equipment and experience I've got.

Started off with carts for a cigarette I believe is a LTV9 (Red Dragon) and I really liked the flavor and vapor that came off a fresh cart on a fresh battery. The problem with my first carts is that they are the old style cartomizers that came in 4 packs and taste like burned paper after smoking them for about 30-40 draws.

So I ordered some VK compatible carts from premiumecig and tried those. The quality and flavor are much better for sure and they last MUCH MUCH longer without turning into burned paper. However the throat hit on the 16mg is too harsh and the vapor production is lower than the LTV9 carts.

My equipment currently is 4 LTV9 batteries, a KR808 USB passthrough and 2 batteries. What carts do you recommend for more vapor and much smoother kick?
I've really had good success with KR cartomizers from both vapor4life.com and vapornine.com. I also had bought cartomizers from other sites and ended up with burning problems. I prefer buying the blank carts in bulk from vapornine and loading them with my favorite nicotine juices that I also add a little gycerin to on occasion for more vapor. That's everything from Totally Wicked unflavored that I flavor myself with Loran and cut it with Wilton glycerin to vapor4life juices to e-smokey treats etc.. The key with good quality KR808 cartomizers is to keep them topped off with juices and not smoking them till they are hot. I keep a nebula and a vaporking in my pocket all day and switch between the two so they stay cool. grimmgreen and terraphon have some great reviews of vaporizing flavors on youtube if you haven't seen them already. I learned a lot from both of them.

so , my marlboro juice supply was getting rather low... i decided to try to extend it's life with some VG , using VERY sparingly , the juice got very slightly thicker but not really noticable. I topped up a cartomizer with this juice and let it sit overnight. The next morning i attempted to take a drag and got no airflow through the damn thing. Only a deep gurgling sound. I blew a bunch of the juice out , thinking i have over-filled it , but still nothing. I did this twice before i realized that it was probably the thick VG clogging it up. I stopped cutting my juice and have not had a problem since.

so have you washed out a cartomizer? i was thinking about doing that to get a "fresh start" with a few of mine.

Vegas = amazing , probably wont be back until 2010 sometime ha ha

I collect a dozen or so, open them, secure them two at a time in the alligator clips of a helping hands (soldering utility) so they stay in place, drip a little lemon juice diluted in water in each one to break the oil and freshen them up, couple short shots with a small Shark steamer, use a needlenose plyer to pick them up, drop them in a cup of water to soak a while, when finished I hold most of them in a circle between thumb and fingers with the open end up and give them one more cold water rinse and dry them for a few hours. Never as good as new, but get 1 or 2 more fills out of them.

On Cleaning the kr808-d-1s

Hi Nick, Hi Autrad,

The lemon juice idea sounds genius...

I'll have to try that, I just take them out to my workshop and bust a move with the air compressor; blow out as much juice as I can;

then hold them up to my reverse osmosis water tap and squirt, oops (all over the wall) reposition squirt again; then just blow the water out with the air compressor,

and finally heat them up with a hair dryer if I need it right away, if not I set them in the fan stream of my dell computer...

Ultra low tech, I'm yet to have one that didn't come back to fresh...

I'm frugal, I blow the juice into a vessel, throw in a itty bitty ball of cotton and suck through it as a filter with a blank syringe--ala the herion addicts-thanks junkies...

I've a method now for filling... and yes Nick you're right, filling from the cap end seems to give tastier results

...I set the cart, just enough to hold it in one of its rubber caps---juice away very generously till the juice comes out the battery end and into the rubber cap

Toss in my cotton ball and suck up the overage...

I salute the junkies as innovators in frugality...

the Lemon juice idea is genius, Thanks, and

Best Regards
fo

PS. I should mention I let the refilled carts sit overnight, that this method requires time to soak through...

Side note, with a rubber cap just slightly on an opened cart you can squeeze it and work the juice back and forth a bit...always fun to smoosh the juice

regards
