Just to throw my input here, as I asked pretty much the same question when I first got my 501 2 days ago...

A lot of people told me many different things to do, such as soaking them in Coke overnight, soaking them in water, soaking them in 151, blowing them out, etc...

I found that just blowing them out (until nothing else is on the tissue) didn't COMPLETELY get rid of the taste, so I soaked both of mine in water overnight, and then blew the water out the next morning. This did the trick for me.

I have to wait to get my liquid, but my first impression is that the primer tastes alot like a fog machine! Thats what I am battling right now. Just got it today and working on the little guy...I only got intro carts but should have liquid soon...I am hoping I can clean them out at that time and get some good flavor.
