Okay so excited... Then I realized a few more dang details that need consideration... What about 18500 & 18350 batteries??? After I figure this out, I can choose a charger :) hopefully one that accommodates all sizes, if thats possible... I know they may not be ideal when using my rba/rda atty however, I love my carto tanks and am sure those batteries are fine for that. So, ideas? Then, the TOL mod looks like it'll have sufficient airflow for my carto tanks but haven't found a definite answer... I posted to FT asking, so I wait. Unless one of you know the answer??? :) maybe? Omg-summer won't come soon enough. I work at the school-so I'm off when kuds are-got all kinds of juice to make, coils to build... By summers end, I'll have really had so.much play time... lol again, thanks everyone. :)
Great choice vjdossey! I'm glad you went with the Sony's! I recommended them because I feel like they are some of the best, if not the best battery for a mechanical. The price is right too! Now you can have the peace of mind, knowing you've got a battery that can handle super low to standard ohm coils, in spades! Congrats on the batteries, excellent choice!

only difference between 18650 and 18500 are the size and therefore the mAh capacity.

Wrong! There can be a huge difference in amp limits. This can be critical if using an RBA.

AW IMR
18650 2000mah 10Amp continuous discharge rate
18650 1600mah 24A
18490 1100mah 16.5A
18350 700mah 6A

Efest IMR
18650 2250mAh 10A
18650 2000mAh 10A
18650 1600mAh 30A
18490 1100mah 8.8A
18350 800mah 6.4A
purple 18650 2500mAh 35A
purple 18350 700mAh 10.5A

* Be aware that Efest often overstates their battery specifications to increase sales. Independent test results often reveal less performance than the stated specs.

Okay, so I just discovered the TOL can only take a kick with 18500 option. So I gotta get one of those!!! :) now, where to find a kick-sigelei or smok preferably. And USA vendor cuz of time... :) man, I am hoping all the discoveries and things I want/need to have to make my mech mod experience great and safe come to an end soon so I can finally proceed to check out... I'm anxious.... Couldn't of dne any of this on my own... Thanks again everybody!

My first time seeing this, but you can get a Smok Kick Adaptor and Smoktech Kick for $25 here: Smok Kick Adapter, Includes Variable Wattage Kick Module. You'll be able to use an 18650 IMR battery without a sleeve. This adaptor sits on top of your mechanical mod in the 510 connector. So instead of sitting on top of the battery, the Kick works outside of the mod, on top.

Can I use a 18490 instead of 18500?

Yes. In fact, the AW IMR 1100 mAh is an 18490 battery. It is the best battery in this size by far, having 16.5 amps compared to the 8.8 amps of the Efest 18490 IMR 1100 mAh.

Okay guys... After days of research and bouncing back n fourth between a few different choices I finally placed my orders... I got the Tree of life mech from vaperoyalty... I ordered one of each battery size recommended by my kind fellow vapers... I also have a few lower amp batteries already so I got a fuse and kick to use if/when needed... I got the new trident v2, oh an a new charger...
I have to say, I really started eyeing the Ehpro cronus clone yesterday-it is simple but has great reviews. I really think it'll be my 2nd mech mod if I get a second one. :) I really appreciate everyones input and help... I am almost there... Come on vape mail, lol...
