Well, I have several tanks and toys now...So I think it is time that I get a mech. I REALLY want to start dripping..Got to test drive my friends Nemesis clone on some max VG and I fell in love. However, I have never built a coil. I have watched the entire process of building the coil, wicking, and using it and it seems like something I want to get into. My "go to" shop builds you a coil and wicks it for $5. I can re-wick off the bat no problem, but until I figure out coil building...Having it done for $5 doesn't bother me at all. Anybody have any recommendations on batteries, attys, and the tubes? Not really sure where to start here. I don't want something huge. Something small that I can fit in a pocket would be preferred...Really stoked about getting one. :vapor:

Edit: I forgot...Today marks 1 month of being chewing tobacco free!..(and tobacco in general).

If you're going to get a clone look for something made by Infinite. They make good quality clones. Do a google search for mech mod clones by infinite. You'll find something you like. Batteries - Sony VTC4 or VTC5 if you can find them. If not get the new Vamped batteries. Please do some research on battery safety. There are some great youtube videos. Get an Ohms law calculator on your phone or computer so you know your coils are safe to use with whatever battery you get. Most RDAs are the same really. Get one that goes well with the mod you get. Happy vaping. Be safe.

I have the nemesis clone and I like it but its temperamental...at least mine is. I have the one by H Cigar. First off the lock ring sucks IMO, it just feels really cheap and the threads are not smooth. This was my first Mech so I really didn't know what to look for. I will be going for a recessed button for my next mod. Also the screw on the top part that connects to the atty needs to be re-tightened so that it makes good connection to the battery WAY to often...the whole thing just seems really fragile...even though its made out of copper and steel. When its all tightened up its great but it is not pocket friendly.

For batteries I was recommended Sony, so that is what I got. Both have died in under 2 months of regular usage. It was probably my fault for leaving them charging overnight and not checking the voltages before charging them but I also have my suspicion that these were knock off batteries. My advice, whatever brand you go with, buy it from a good source or you might get burned...there are a lot of fakes out there.

Also - buy a digital multimeter (20-30$) even if you dont plan to build your coils (which you should do). You will need to check the voltage of your batteries every now and then.

Interesting. Shop has two stingrays on sale for $34.99 a piece. Worth it maybe?

That's really cheap for a B&M to have a clone for that cheap. Most be pure crap. You should look it over see how the threads are. Ask who makes it. A decent clone should cost you around $50.

Look up Selectvape on eBay they have a huge following and sell nothing but top of the line clones and RDA/RBA's with them.

As far as batteries go you need to get a Sony VTC 4 or 5. You will not find the 5 so get the 4.

If you want to start dripping then get an RDA.
Always good to have a mech, but you don't need the mech to start dripping.

Once you get used to building single coil right on your rda, then you'd want to add the second coil, and at that point your power requirement will double and you'll need a mech or a high powered device.
