First month of Vaping... Not impressed with my eGo!

So I purchased this ridiculously high priced 808 starter kit from v2Cigs about a month ago. Unfortunately, I found this forum afterwards and immediately purchased an eGo kit about 5 days later.

Why does my USB Passthrough for my 808 cartos vape SO MUCH BETTER then my eGo?

I've tried dripping (which I enjoy at home, except when using my Mega Atomizer, that thing sucks), cartomizers and cartridges. I even ordered some 510 carto's yesterday to see if they would make a difference.

I enjoy my USB Passthrough so much more.

Are the Passthrough's putting out more juice to the carts? And by juice I mean more voltage. If that's the case, is there another device you fine folks can recommend that puts out the same voltage as the Passthrough's?

I'm still a n00b and trying to figure this stuff out without spending another small fortune on equipment.

i have an ego...but haven't used it yet..however on my riva i use a lr atty and the cone and it is awesome...which atty are u using?

What do you mean "vape so much better"? I have the EGO, 4081, KR808 with a passthrough, etc and the KR808 is by far my least favorite, and it isn't even close.

Do you mean more vapor or exactly what?

I've used the regular ones that came with the eGo and I purchased a Mega atty to see if that would work better with the Mega Carts I bought. I haven't had any luck. I even went out and bought some of that blue foam stuff they sell at Petco and still no good.

Ok, you may want to read up on the Mega stuff. The reviews that I have read are marginal, at best. I have not tried them...

Any model is simply the battery (power) and the atomizer or cartomizer generates the type of hit. i have seen several people unhappy with their Mega EGO stuff - but again, I have not tried them.

Your USB passthrough is probably a 5v passthrough which will put out a little less than 5v's when hooked up to a standard USB port on a computer. Somewhere in this forum the exact voltage is listed. I think it says its around 4.5v for a 5v passthrough hooked up to a regular USB port. The Ego is only 3.2- 3.4v which is the reason your passthrough performs better than your Ego. You might look into getting a 5v or variable volt mod. I would probably start with a 5v box mod because they are the cheapest and see if you like it as much as your passthrough. One good site for an inexpensive 5v box mod is Box Mods.

Yeah your PT must be 5V. Try using lr attys or lr cartos.

Agreed, but i think people that like the type of hit of the KR808 are never going to like the EGO. The taste is different, in my view. I have tried the KR w/PT - I do not like it, at all. The taste is not good - to me. Others like it.

If people like the KR808, then a better option for them is the EGO version of that model. There is no question the two taste different.

Some seem happy with them. All I know is that I have seen at least 3 or 4 posts where people tried the EGO with that setup and did not like it...

Yes and no. It somewhat has to do with voltage. Both the EGO and the KR808 ARE 3.7V, unlike what most say. The difference is that in practice the EGO does not deliver 3.7V, more like 3.2. It has something to do with internal controls of the battery or something. I am a technical tard, but i read all that jibberish on here from people that know... lol.

This is way above my technical knowledge, but it really has more to do with how much ohms is carried through to the atomizer (or something like that) and why many people use the LR atomizer on the EGO to somewhat makeup for the lower voltage.

The 808 battery to me is on par with the eGo.

Same juice in both. I just got some new carto's and filled them both up with Mutt's Fire & Ice.

Hi guys! Im just new here in Ecf. I have been vaping for almost 3months and been using Ego for a month. I find my Ego so easy to make a draw. Im using LR atty. I spend most of my time in front of the computer (because of my work). Is it worth it to buy an Ego passthrough or there are other PT you can suggest?

Welcome. Well, 1 EGO battery should stay charged for 5-8 hours, easily. So battery charge life likely won't be a reason to get a PT. It likely would only be for voltage. I do not know enough about all that to even comment - i will get it wrong, for sure, lol.

Hmm that made me think confused haha... I think it would be best if I just upgrade to better PV than to get myself a PT. You're right, I don't get to finish 1 battery while at work. The problem is what good PV to get this time? From the country where I am now, choices are very limited.

What do you mean by better PV? In terms of what? So you were looking to get a PT to make it better?

In my view the only way to get a better PV than EGO is likely to go with a MOD. i don't want one as i have no interest in a box or something big. But many do go that route...
