Hello, it's my first post here, but I've been lurking for few months now. I've been using e-cigs for over one year now, and I love it.
I love using it in the car and not worrying about dropping the ash everywhere. I love having white teeth and nice-yish skin. I love not making other people uncomfortable with the cigarette smell. It's all great.

So, I've been using Ego with CE5 clearo for about 10 months, and it was all okay, but I wanted a wee bit of a change. I can't really justify spending a lot of money on my nicotine gear, so after reading many posts here, I thought I'll try evod - not pricey but recommended by many folk here.

Christ, it made a difference. I put the same 18mg liquid in it as I put in ce5. I've been changing clearomizers regularly so it's not like I'm not used to fresh few puffs. I indulge in chain vaping whenever I can - which is almost everyday. There should be no surprises.

And yet, I used new evod for 10 minutes max - and here I am, sweating and feeling sick. Typical slight nicotine OD - happened before (with nicotine gums). Surely it will go away soon.

Does it mean that evod is ultra effective comparing to ce5?:)

P.s. Sorry about title and edits, my hands were shaking a bit when I was trying to type the post and I sent it too early.

Hi StanleyK.

The EVOD is certainly better (for many) than the CE5 type. Also, the resistance of the atomizer makes a difference - are you getting noticeably more vapour?

A trade body in Canada actually measured the nicotine in the vapour from a standard battery and a 1.8ohm evod clearomiser. The results were excellent. The only trouble with all these "stats" is that isn't how much nicotine you are getting into your system, just how much is "collected" in the test.

Yes, they are good. Yes, some people need to calm their vaping or drop down a level. They are not in the league of some atomizers, but if it's good for you, it's good. :)

I use the T3S, which is kind of similar.

Kanger T3S Clearomizer - Clearomizers

it needs filling less often. :)

I absolutely love the eVod's the entire line seems to be well designed and built, I got introduced on a knock off model, and even the knock off to me was better then the brand name models of some of the other brands. I use as low a nicotine as I can find most of the time, and made the mistake of going higher once. I ended up giving the bottle away.

More vapor = more nicotine.

:toast:

And usually better flavor, which means more vaping.

Set it down a bit, or get some 12mg or even 6mg for those times when you want to chain vape.

The EVOD is a great little clearomizer even with stock heads. If you decide to rebuild them with cotton, they are even better.

EDIT - Just noticed this is your first post, so Welcome to the forums :toast:

SpaceCase, they're sturdier than you think. There are a ton of links (of course I can't find ANY of them right now) about rewicking with cotton and even full-blow rebuilding. Also look up dry-burn - that talks about how to clean the gunk off the coils to extend their lives a bit too.

Unscrew the coil from the tank base. Then, in the same direction that the wick is sticking out, toggle the "chimney"/stem, and that part should come off kinda easily (like snapping an old wooden pencil) You likely will see two strands laying across the coil. Carefully take those off and set aside without letting them unravel (tweezers most helpful here). Make sure that you don't pull out the bottom parts (there's a metal pin and then some sort of opaque insulator/gasket, as these hold the ends of the coils to make the positive and negative contacts to the battery. Presuming you have stock coils, you should probably have silica as the wick. You don't have to remove this to dryburn the coil. Just put the coil back onto the tank base and screw the base back onto your battery. Carefully and gently pulse the power switch. Little by little, you'll get some smoke and some spattering, but you should start to see the crud come off the coil. Let the coil glow red for a second or two. Put the flavor wicks (the two strands) back on top of the coil, put the chimney back on and make sure the silicone cover is pushed back down where the chimney meets the base. Put back on the base, fill up the tank and let 'er rip.

If you ever rewick with cotton, DO NOT dry burn with cotton in place. Ewwwwwwwwwwww

Check for websites that go through this (with pictures and much better descriptions than I can provide) I was intimidated by this, but once I did a couple, it's easy.

Hi, Stanley, and welcome to ECF!

I DEFINITELY prefer the BCC types (i.e. evod) to the TCC's. For me they just give a much better vape.

To SpaceCase, these are pretty easy to rebuild (and even easier to just re-wick). There are some good videos on you-tube.
When I'm being lazy I just soak them in cheap vodka, which also works well.

Edit: This one's not too bad. You don't really need tools to get them apart; I mostly just use fingers (except for the coil-winding part!)
