Hello everyone, my name is Rich and I'm from Ohio..........first post. Have been smoking on and off for about 20 years along with my wife. We both have it "limited" now to just when we have some cocktails........once or maybe twice a week. Just received starter set from E51 and are amazed at the results(this may finally be the answer to quit). Very surprised, thought this too good to be true! Quick question, starter kit came with 12mg cartridges which are more than enough and give all the sensation needed and are very smooth to "draw/enhale". Ordered extra 16mg cartridges and when we tried these, they were virtually impossible to take a drag from them. Has anyone else experience this? Is this a defect or is this common when you increase the nicotine mg? In any case, if this device works like it does with the 12mg cartridges which it was shipped with, I can easily see not EVER having to pick up a cigarette the rest of my life, and that is a fantastic thought. Might just be defective carts? I can't see why a higher nicotine level would cause a harder draw. You should purchase some liquid and top off your carts rather than buy prefilled ones. Much cheaper and more variety.

I'm assuming from your post that you got a 2-piece e-cig...is that true (just a battery and a "cartridge" you screw onto the battery)? And did you get the extra 16mg strength from the same supplier?
If so, mg strength shouldn't effect draw--it's just a different juice that's in the cart.
Couple things come to mind:
- If you hold the cartridge up to the light, can you see through it? Could be some "schmutz" blocking the air passage..
- Compare the 12mg and 16mg cartridges, especially around the threaded end: are there any differences? (my cartomizers look like they have "cuts" in the sides so that when screwed to the battery, air can still be drawn in). Maybe the 16mg carts are the wrong ones for the battery you have (although you'd think the supplier would know what goes with what battery)...

Arkangel, You are absolutely "dead on" correct....there is some air "gap" near the threaded end and the replacements do not have the same "gaps". Thanks so much for your help.......Also, do you recommend "filling" cartridges as the other person posted?? If so, would I just keep using the same cartridge?? Thanks again for your help...........
If you are using a 2 piece model that has a cartomizer, the yes, the cartomizer can be refilled. I believe it is suggested that you only refill 2-3 times. They are supposed to be disposables anyway.
Yes I recommend it, if you want--takes a little time, but saves a little money. And yes, you re-use the cartomizer.

I can tell when my carto is getting empty when I notice a flavor change, no matter what flavor carto I'm using. As soon as the flavor changes, I remove the carto and set it aside for refilling later. I've gone past the first flavor change before and it gets to a burned flavor, not too pleasant--another key notifier that it's time to change.
Haven't been doing this long enough to tell how many times I can refill.
