First Pull SS GGTS Questions...

So I've had the ss GGTS for a few weeks now but haven't taken it out except to admire it. So this afternoon I had some time to myself and broke out the GGTS. I applied Vaseline to all the threads and O rings which was pretty messy but I got it done.

I put in an 18490 battery and figured out how to connect a cartomizer and wow it was amazing!

So my question is - is it bad or dangerous if I got Vaseline on the battery? How do I know if I've tightened it too much? When using the telescope feature which part should I be tightening? There's threads on both sides so I'm not sure.

Also when screwing in the carto it looks like I don't need to screw it down all the way because of the pin which I think just needs to touch the battery. The more I screw down the carto the further down the pin goes which pushes the battery down and then you need to extend the telescope to make more room. Is this right?

There are two pieces that make up the top brass piece with an o ring in between. Is there a reason for the O ring there? Also it's really narrow and fits very tightly around the cartomizer. Which one goes in first the cap or the cartomizer and then the cap?

The top part of the telescoping tube should be tight, the bottom part is the adjustable -- and tighten until firm.

The pin moves up and down, its one of the benefits.......

O-rings ensure the seal, keep them! Cartos, then cap worked best for me........

Thanks ripple. I didn't apply Vaseline to the battery but some did get on the battery. Should I be concerned? Will it affect the protection (it's an AW)?

What's the benefit of a moving pin? I guess that means I don't have to screw the carto in all the way which would let the middle telescope be completely closed. Right?

Also if I understand correctly I don't need to worry about tightening the battery too much? What do most people use when only working with the GGTS? Is it cargos or atties with drip tips?

I have a UFS but I'm waiting to find that perfect juice before I start with it.

The Aw 18490 does not have a protection circuit it is a safer chemistry and will not explode when venting, I dont think its a huge deal but just wipe the battery off. The moving pin is a benefit because when you screw in the atty or carto all the way in and then tighten the ggts down, the center pin will always make contact with whatever atty or carto you put on it because if it isnt making contact then tightening the gg will move that contact up to make contact with the positive on tthe atty or carto. The way you should be doing it is loosen everything up then screw in the atty or carto all the way down in the connector, then insert the battery if it is not already in and slowly tighten the bottom section until you meet a bit of resistance, there is no need to overtighten, like rip said the top portion of the threads on the telescope are not for adjusting, you need to screw the top of the body onto that until it stops and then screw the bottom part to adjust. Does that make sense? I do not think that there is one or the other that people use most on the ggts, some people use attys some use cartos, I use both and adjust the airflow depenmding on what I am using. Hope that helps, if you take some time and think about how the ggts actually works then that may help as well, it is a very smart design and makes a lot of sense once it clicks in your mind.

Thanks ata! I am realizing more and more how much thought has gone into this device and its astounding. Really very impressive.

If I screw in the carto all the way then I am not able to fully close the GGTS. If I just give the carto a few turns and then let the pin do the rest I can make the GGTS smaller - would this be ok?

Another note: I used the GGTS with a dual coil carto that usually gives me warmer vapor. I noticed that I didn't feel much warmth using the GGTS - could that be right?

How is the draw on the GGTS?
If the carto isn't screwed all the way in, it could provide more airflow around the threads. More airflow= cooler vapor.
Try screwing the carto tight (and thus not closing the gap in the GGTS), and see if that helps.
I'm between GGTS's right now, so i can't test it for you

if you dont want to damage the GGTS connector's threads you have to screw all the way down the atomizer casu my friend.

Yeah I think you need to screw the carto all the way in like others said, the fact that the ggts does not close all the way does not matter, that is why the telescoping feature is in place, that way you can adjust it to the perfect length for certain size batteries. One last tip is make sure the spring in the bottom cap is screwed all the way in to give you a little bit more room. Dont worry about how much of the telescope is showing just pay attention that you are not overtightening.
I use dual coils on my ggts and do not notice a difference I actually have a better vape because of the asdjustable airflow.

I do not think its possible to dent a ssggts, you could scratch it or nick it but there is no way you are gonna dent stainless steel that thick. Some people only vape it inside of the velure bag that it comes with but I just use it because that is what it was made for.

I too use a 18490, after tightening my 510 low res atty, then tightening the telescope, I do not have threads showing. Maybe you can tighten it slightly more so it's tightly telescoped in, but not overly tight. Now, I don't use cartos, so I am not totally sure if this is the same case as yours. Maybe you have a longer 510 connection on your carto..?

When using it outside my home, I keep it inside of my ego pouch buttoned closed. This way it stays safe, free from fingerprints and scratches.

I don't have threads showing but the telescope part shows as opposed to it being totally closed and shorter. I thing the atties and cartos have the same 510 connection size.

There you go. That should work just fine. If you do not like seeing the telescope part, you can always use a smaller battery.

18350 or 16340 are smaller casu but 15270 are even smaller. You can use one single 15270 and you will have the smallest GGTS configuration and no visible telescope if you like it that way

In case casual did not figure this out, if you are using these three batts you must remove the top section of the ggts and reattach the top cap to the top of the telescope. You can also fit the 18490 without the top portion as well.

I mostly use my ggts with the 18490s with the top section removed and it's perfect size. The AW IMR 18490's are only 1100 mAh but if you have two you will be fine.

So I'm using my GGTS with a dual coil carto for now. A few questions for anyone who has a second:

1. I have the black cartos which only means theres a black sticker over the steel part. This interferes and will not let me put the GGTS over it because its too thick. I peeled off the black sticker and had to get all that glue off and viola! it fits like a glove. Anyone else have to deal with peeling the stickers off their cartos?

2. Are you guys using single coil cartos or double coils? I'm noticing its not easy to find the steel cartomizers. Any good vendors that have them?

3. Will a G4 cartomizers work properly with the GGTS?

4. Also whats the difference between the 306 cartomizers vs. the 510? Is 306 yet another kind of threading?
