Thanks guys! From all I've read, these things are bulletproof so I'm not that worried. Just want to be safe.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be ordering a spring right now lol. Had the credit card out, made it all the way to checkout, and saw the $25 international shipping haha! Just too crazy for a $4 spring lol, I'm going to try the "cross my fingers and hope I never need one" method to start!

Thanks again everyone, I'll be placing my battery order now and can't wait to get wood!

Ouch! Sorry, I never checked the internat'l rates. Wouldn't be too bad if you were picking up a whole mod but definitely extreme for just a spring. Maybe you could PM Rob? Oh, and the site's just set up for Paypal, so that might've thwarted you right there.

And just thinking out loud here, the spring protection is what makes it safe to use the unprotected batteries in the reo? Or are the aw IMR protected as well? Just curious because people always suggest using protected batteries in their mods!

It's never a good idea to use any unprotected li-ion battery in any mod.

Edit: The AW IMR batteries are not "protected" because they are considered safe chemistry batteries. Mlinky will be along sooner or later and link you to some valuable reading on the subject. :p

Ok thank you guys!

I wasn't so worries about the reo since these are recommended. I was thinking more of the possibility of grabbing another 18650 mod one day and not having them explode. I will definitely check that battery thread thanks.

The moment of truth just happened, just placed a reo support order! Thanks everyone, couldn't have done it without you!

3X 5v batteries + charger
2X aw IMR 18650's + charger

Chinner is happy!

Chinner, re: the spring. I *believe* you can canabalize one from a cheap plastic AA or AAA battery box like they sell at Radio Shack for a couple of dollars. You should be able to pick one up at any electronics supply place and not have to pay shipping. Of course, the safe thing to do is buy another woodvil to have as a spare :)

ETA: The AW IMR batteries are not only safer, they give a much better vape than the Li-ions.

Thanks for the info!

My biggest worry is not doing anything to hurt the woodvil. Glad for all the help, as for the springs I'll cross that bridge when I get there lol. There's enough reo folk up here to help if the time ever comes. I feel good about my purchase today, can't wait to try the 5v batteries! I was looking for a 5v backup, and until late last night I had no idea a reo would do this!

I have a feeling this may be the final piece of my vaping puzzle! Thank you all!

I may be way out to lunch, but I read somewhere that the old tech chargers like the WF-139 that I ordered can overcharge and damage or destroy the aw IMR 18650's I also bought. Can these be left overnight on charge worry free? Should I have bought the 188 instead?

4.8V NiMH Battery Charger

You can only use the above charger for the 4.8V NiMH batteries.

The WF 139 allows use with a 12 volt adapter (cigarette lighter plug in a car) and the WF 188 does not.

Just check your battery's voltage with a multimeter fresh off the charger. It should be 4.2ish volts. If it's significantly less or more, replace that charger.

I wouldn't leave any batteries to charge unattended.

lol Chinner guess I'm not very convincing if you felt the need to confirm everything I told you

That charger will be fine, just don't leave the batts on overnight or you risk overcharging - not a huge deal just shortens the lifespan of your batts.

You're gonna love those 5v batts - they don't last very long, but 3 is a good number for rotation.

Enjoy your REO brother, Phil's a decent guy I've traded with him.

Edit: I have springs from Rob, right here in Canada :) If you ever need one shoot me a pm. Only if you shorted it please.

Hey man, it's not that i don't trust you! I swear lol. My brain is just so overloaded with info right now. Want to make sure I don't burn the house down here or trash my woody lol! No offense man, just double checking!

The 5v is to me the most exciting part of this, only learned a reo could run 5v recently! Can't wait!

And as for phil, I agree. Seems like a cold dude, hope the woodvil survives the travel! Should have it today or tomorrow hopefully, and my batteries by the weekend!

And about the spring, I'd love to grab one at some point! Maybe next time I come to Mtl we should grab a pint and do a swap!

Cheers man, and I really do appreciate the help!
